I was watching the 130th Westminster Kennel Club dog show last night. I noticed the yorkie owner lifted the dog down with its leash? That always scares me with yorkies - Many others used the chest and tail to lift down. The announcer mentioned that there are NO 'teacups' in ANY breed. I thought that was interesting. This was the toy dog competition - best of show. |
Laura...I love what you said and thought the announcers did a great job... They covered such subjects as NOT getting a dog as a Fashion Accessory ....stating there are NO Teacups in the Yorkie Breed....Advised people to find REPUTABLE Breeders.......Research before deciding on a family pet.... I think they did wonderful with those statements in between commentating. The Toy Group was awesome as always. I was waiting for them to tell the world don't shop in Pet Stores but didn't hear that one....I wish Mills and Pet stores would get more national attention - but seeing last nights show ....they did touch on some subjects we talk about here. |
Yea I heard that about the teacups and fashion statements too. I thought they did a good job too. That yorkie was gorgeous also. |
Villette - Maybe we need to write them and suggest puppy mill statement, too. They were very good and I appreciated all the points they made which you commented on as well. I had never seen a long haired chi! That was a really cute one. |

I'll tell you this...before I got Baby (she's a beautiful 6.5lbs so far) I didn't watch a dog show a day in my life. Now I can't wait for the Yorkie to come on!!! :D |
I have seen some of these pictures before - and their coats were shinny. I don't think comes through very well on the pictures we are viewing. Carol Jean |
I'm very happy he said "There is no such thing as a teacup" :bravo: |
