YT is my Reward...?
 
Does anyone else use YT as a reward for getting stuff done?

What I mean is that I set goals for myself or a list of things I have to accomplish before I can get on YT each day.....

And then, I can only stay on for a certain time period and I have to go accomplish more things on the "To Do" list before I can get back on.

Is this sick or what??? :eek:

I NEED TO DO THAT! I'm sitting here trying to pry myself away to DO those things on today's list!

Some days I have used it as an award but I get carried away and reward myself in advance...and that doesn't work too well, haha!

I know what you mean...as I have been known to cheat....lol....but I have found that it really works well because I want to get on but I KNOW I have to get my work done so I will do it faster and more efficiently and even earlier in the day so I get more time on YT!!

What a good idea! Guess I should do that instead of starting out on YT and thinking I will get _______ done when I get off here. Right now I am washing my bedding between reading posts!

Ah, that's true too.

Darnit, I can't reward myself with food and be productive......but make me WAIT to get on YT until AFTER my chorses/errands/housework etc is done??!! Man you've never seen me be so productive in my LIFE! (haha)

My husband uses it to bribe me to do things like last night he was on the computer and he told me if I rubbed his feet he would let me get on Yorkie Talk!!!

Oh that's a good idea!! I need to start doing that! I do it backwards! I get on YT first & then do the chores! :p

I have tried that but I always cheat and get on anyways!! Its a good theory though!

and MustangBee~ I really am not all that strong....I am still trying hard to get off when I am supposed to and get the work done.....I have a set schedule in the am of the things I have to accomplish before my "YT break" but then when I get on, it is amazing how fast the time goes and I cannot tearmyself away...I always say, I'll just read one more thread or I will just write one more post and I cannot stop!!

I am trying though so at least that counts...right???? :D

This is all obvious. Look at that post count! That is an average of 24 posts per day.
As for me... YT is no reward. It is an addiction.

I'm doing the opposite right now...I'm on YT when I should be doing other stuff. I guess I reward my self before, after, and in the midst of accomplishing other things. Like, I'll be cleaning and run on YT to see if anything new and interesting popped up. :D

Yep, I definately do that Kim! When I finish a chore I get on YT. If I really get something accomplished, I actually take the time to post, lol!

That is how I clean my house. Everytime I get what I have on my list done I can get on YT.

HI!!! I am so glad I am not the only one..You guys have all made me feel better!! So YT is actually good for our work habits...right? Can i convince my family of that??? NOT!!!! :rolleyes:

Jim leave notes by the PC when he needs me to do something or tell me something when he's not home. The other day I came home from work and he left a note saying I had a message on the machine and that there are clean pads..lolol.

:teethysmi Since I discovered YT (all of a few days ago)I put it on and run around after the puppy most of the day. I get my housework done and any cooking I may have out of the way first thing. Although sometimes I just sit here! I think I'll use the reward system, it's a very good idea. :)
