Help...I think we're in heat! Our baby, Sophie, is ready to turn 6 months old and all of a sudden we're seeing a big change in her. She has been so loving, but now all of sudden she is hiding under chairs, beds; panting a lot, wanting out all the time. She spent the day at the vet's today and they say she is fine. No fever, no pain, etc. What should we look for when she is ready to go into heat for the first time? Thanks gang, osubuckeyes1 :aimeeyork |
Hi sounds like her first season. Is she constantly licking herself down there? This is a major sign. One way to check her is to gently wipe her bits with a piece of white toliet paper or kitchen towel if there is any discharge at all then she is in season. If this is the case please be very wary of any dogs as they will be so attracted to her.The whole thing will last about 3 weeks. Her moods will change she will go from being really all over you to wanting to be left alone. A bit like us girls really :D Hope this helps Sharon,Charley & Melody xx |
