Update Hello everyone. Sorry, I haven't been back in touch. I work during the week, have school at night, and still have to be a Mom and a wife. I still have Flossie here with me. I have prayed about the right thing to do and I don't think she is completely ready. She has some life in her and I feel she will show me the TRUE signs of being ready to go. There are still days that I wonder if I am prolonging her (which I really am) but something makes me keep her here just a tad bit longer. Yes, I may be crazy. Thanks to everyone talking me through this and I hope everyone will continue to be here! A big THANKS to everyone! |
That is definately something only you can decide for her. I am sure you will KNOW when she is ready. Thanks for updating us. :) |
Kerri, you will "know" when it's time and you know you don't have to hurry. She will tell you. And don't worry .... when you have to cross that bridge ... rest assured, there will be lots of us with you! God bless you. |
Thank you for updating us. Flossie will give you a sign and I am sure you will see it. It will be in her eyes...a pleading of sorts and it is unmistakable. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. |
Hi Kerri, I am so sorry that you are going through a rough time with Flossie. I have wondered how I will handle this situation when the time comes, and I hope I am able to stay strong. I don't know that I will, though. I read in an earlier thread that you do not want to be with Flossie when the vet comes to put her to sleep. I know it is going to be painful for you. I hope you will reconsider, though. If Flossie is calmer and more comfortable with you holding her, please try to ease her anxiety and be with her at the end. It will make her journey easier and she will be comforted by your presence. Try to remain calm, and remember, you can cry later. If Flossie is just as comfortable with your husband, maybe he can be with her instead. I am not criticizing you in any way. In fact, I admire how much you love Flossie. I just think that anything you can do to make her passing less stressful would be a wonderful gift to her at the end of her life. Just think about it. If you are physically incapable of remaining calm, then don't do it. I'll be thinking of you. |
