Work at Home Moms 1 Attachment(s) Hey there. I am a stay at home/work at home mom. I do medical transcription at home. Max is our little 5-month old and he is just a little sweetheart. But - in the afternoon when i sit down to do my typing he whines and cries until i pick him up. Then, he wants to sit on my chest or shoulder. Normally he just lays there and is quite good but it is quite difficult to type accurately with a little one attached to my chest...never mind the position i am in while trying to type. Of course when i put him down he starts all over again. I've put him in his crate but he doesn't like the fact that I am in the office working without him. His little half=brother is coming to live with us in a few weeks so he will soon have a playmate...but in the meantime, does anyone have a little one like this too? I have thought about going out and buying one of those little baby strappy things, you know, the kind you put the baby in and you can carry it in front of you.... |
Tia is like this too. When she's not playing with Sandy, she wants to be in my lap. I just taught her to sit in my lap while I'm at the computer and she usually goes to sleep. I also put a nice comfy bed right beside my chair and she's getting better about laying there while I'm online. Right now she is in my lap sleeping while I type - she's so cute :) Sorry I'm not much help! |
Thanks no, you are helping. At least I know that i am not the only one that has this situation. It's not a problem, it just seemed that he was getting worse and worse about it...in fact, here he is now - jumping on my leg, doing his crying and whining bit. He's just so pathetic. Cant' wait for that little brother to get here so they can play. |
Mine is the same way. I'm home all day so I hold him alot. We are getting another one soon also so hopefully that will help. They are such little babies but I would not want mine any other way. |
Toto is exactly like that! If I sit down [anywhere] she is on my lap! At the computer she just sits and watches or lays and naps! She follows my every step when I go from room to room and when I'm doing housework, etc. she either runs and plays or naps/watches .... she just HAS to be in the same room that I am in! When she was smaller I used a front carrier but it was a tad bulky so Patrick bought me a sling [the kind for your arm] and it worked beautifully until one day I leaned over cleaning one of the toilets and almost dropped her in!!! She had fallen asleep in the sling! :) When you have a "clinger" like this, you just have to try different things to see what works for you! ;) |
Thanks bettyeanne. I thought the carrier would be too big for little Max. He's only 3# 10 oz. But he can be so relentless about being held. My fault for babying him....but how can you not. Maybe I'll try the sling idea - just for when I am at the computer typing. That just might work! Thanks again. |
