Detangler :aimeeyork Hi everyone. Quick question. I'm looking for a good detangler (preferably something I don't have to order). Can you tell me what you prefer to use? I'll order it if I have to, but would like to pick something up today. Any other products you'd suggest would be great, too. |
For a quick fix - JOHNSONS NO MORE TANGLES for REAL Babies - just follow their directions and it really helps get tangles apart - you can find it in most supermarkets |

Thanks! for the quick response! I was hoping you would be one of the people to respond to this question! Your puppies are so beautiful! It must work! There are so many beautiful Yorkies on this site!! :) |
Thank you !! I did go to a groomer a few years ago who used it and bought some for my girls and it really does work and it's very gentle... Get the REAL Johnsons - I tried the imitation or lesser brand and it made them itch - you have to work some out with your fingers if they're bad... Do you have a puppy cause it seemed I had the most need for it when my girls were changing from puppy coats to adult... |
I use ethnic products. But, some of them are hard to find. I love the products made for Black American care products and find they work well for me and my younguns.. Villette has such gorgeous girls that I would get WHATEVER she suggests. |

Yes, Molly's 5 months old now and is just now starting to get tangles on her legs. No real problems anywhere else, so far. Her hair is growing pretty quickly now, so it's definitely more prone to tangles at this point. Do you saturate the bad areas with the detangler when you work them out with your fingers? She only has a couple. I guess this is what is happening? Her coat is changing from puppy to adult? I had a maltese before I had Molly and I didn't notice any change in the coat of my maltese. Molly is my first Yorkie and I have so much to learn! Boy is it fun! Loving every minute of it! |
We went out and bought some Johnson's No Tangle and am hoping to works...Magic always seems to have a messy face!!! I am trying it out tonight when I brush them!! |

I'd love to get some product names. I have curly hair and am always looking for something that works... come on ladies...share ;) What're you using right now? Maybe I can "kill two birds with one stone" and buy something that'll work on Molly AND me :p |
Motions Products - you can find them in Ethnic Hair stores & I believe in Sally Beauty Supply - I get the conditioners and I also use the lotion - I wouldn't use the lotion on a yorkie - too thick and oil based... a really good product for when your baby grows is Chris Christensen Systems Daily Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner - I wish I had Stock in that company - I think I'd be rich :) course I have no stock in ANY company - but it's nice to dream you can look at the CC Systems on Gerry's Site - www.imapreciouspup.com AND she offers a Yorkietalk discount too - HAHAHA !! I had to edit cause I typed Ima precious POOP ! |
