guesses on weight? at 18 weeks, my puppy weighed 4.8 lbs. any educated guesses on how much he'll weigh when full grown? |
I'd say around 7 lbs. |
Tigger's now eight months and weighs about 5 so I'd say around 7 or so. |
7lbs! Perfect size IMO :p |
i agree 7 lbs or so...just more to love :D |
I think 7-8 pounds too. It is a great size! |
Hi all, I would agree with the others. I would think about 7-7.5 lbs. He will be a real cutie if that is his picutre. My first dog was Ashly and she weight 6.7-7lbs and I think was the perfect medium size. She never made me feel like my new puppy, FRAGILE! I am always scared he might break. He will be in the 4lbs. I now wonder if I shouldn't have gotten a bigger yorkie. |
Do size really matter ? The little one will love you and will not bother about your size . |
The question about size is not how much one will love them. They will be loved no matter what size. That question bothered me too due to the amount of money spent and feeling that breeder might have been subtracting lbs to add $$$. If one buys a 5lb-er for $2000 and then gets an 8lb-er, which would be half the price that would bother me too. |
Oh, I'm not asking the question because I wanted him to stay small. In fact, I was really keeping my fingers crossed that he'll be about 7-8 lbs. That's what the breeder told me and that's the size clothing I pre-emptively purchased and stashed in the closet so that when I start breaking out new clothes for bunjee, I can honestly tell my husband, "that old thing? i got that a LONG TIME AGO." :p i just needed unbiased affirmation. ;) |

He looks very cute . |
I am guessing that my little pup weighs about 6 1/2 pounds at 5 months. He is a wonderful size, and I'm sure he'll gain a pound or two more. Time will tell. His mother weighed 12 pounds and his father weighed 4 1/2 pounds. My personal opinion is that any little dog less than 10 pounds is a "small dog." I wanted a small dog because I have a bad back, and I can lift this little guy easily to carry him around, bath him, etc. (I am hoping my little guy will not weigh over 7 or 8 pounds - but as we know - only time will tell.) I also have a 21 pound "big" Bichon. He is very difficult for me to carry or bath. So, I am really enjoying my little Yorkie who is less than half that size. And - if the "tiny" little Yorkies are fragile - believe me mine isn't. He is "hell on wheels" and "tough as nails." I tried to take something away from him the other night and I though I had started WWIII. It is amazing how strong and tenacious these little guys are. I'm sure this is the "terrier" in them.
