Weird Question!! About the word Biewer Ok..... How do you say Biewer?? I've never actually heard anyone say the name before, I didn't even know such a dog exists till on here. I went to show my mom what they look likeand I was pronouncing it like BRIEWER. Can anyone help with this??? Thanks ,I know it's a weird question but it's nerve racking trying to show my mom and husband a picture and not even being able to pronounce the name. Crystal to me it kinda looks like it would be pronounced BOOWER |
It is pronounced more like Beaver. In German the "W" becomes a "V". It is hard to remember the correct way to say it when you are talking to someone else who pronounces it Beuwer,,,Some also pronounce it BE-VAIR.. Guess that is correct too. |
wispermom thanks...... now I can call my mom and tell her.. I've been saying brewer for a long time even though i knew it wasn't right |
I cannot tell you how happy I am you asked that! I too have been wondering what the correct pronunciation was for that word! Yay for you! |

Oh and I so much agree! :aimeeyork  :aimeeyork |
i say B-yew-er (rhymes with Bueller as in Ferris Bueller) |
I think Irene told me it is pronounced like the word Beaver, but I am not sure. What Rini said about the "W" being pronounced like a "V" is correct. It's a German last name so who knows German on here? |

It's true according to German pronunciations it would be bie-ver type pronunciation. I'm not german but used to live there. I could be wrong but if I remember correctly. But since we're in the states, I guess Be-yew-er would also be correct, but unauthentically..lol |
Never mind how to spell or pronounce it, I want two. Something so cute shouldn't have a name sounding like a rodent. Maybe we can Californize the pronounciation .... just a thought. But I still want them. |
