Emerald isthrowing up! it was mainly just the rice and milk i had given her today and now its flem, what can i give her to ease her tummy???? |
How old is Emerald? Sometimes it's not good to give a dog milk, it can really upset their tummies. |
Here's a link to a vet web site that have many common ailments and their common remedies. Hope it helps. http://www.shakervet.com/tv_topics20.htm Here's the vomiting info: Vomiting: 1. Remove the source if known such as overeating, fatty foods, eating grass, or a change in the diet. 2. Remove food and water for several hours until the vomiting has ceased. 3. Pepto-Bismol®—Dose DOGS ONLY, 1 teaspoonful orally per 10 pounds of body weight repeated every 8-12 hours as needed. 4. After the vomiting has subsided, restart liquids by giving very small amounts of water frequently or letting the animal lick on an ice cube. 5. If no vomiting occurs with the small amount of water, give hamburger and rice mixture as prepared above feeding small amounts frequently. |
Emerald just gave birth, didn't she? I really think you should call the vet. In the meantime, I agree: no milk. Maybe just water or very dilute chicken broth (like 2 or 3 teaspoons in her water bowl) for the time being. |
You got great advise ...I hope she feel better ....Good luck !! |
well, tonight she ate some water, and some dry food! is doing so much better! thank you all agin for all your help! |
It might of been all the sudden change in her food and just having babies. and or the beef broth. I would give her the chicken and rice and cottage cheese and egg but not so much of it and also give her her reg food.keep an good eye on her if she continues to get sick I would have a vet check her out. Good Luck. |
