Loki hated the bells at first. He ran away from them!! I tried using a big ring and suction cut to attach them and he was terrifed of it, so I hung them from ribbon instead. He still didn't like them UNTIL he made the connection about what it meant. Oh, and he's really good about only ringing them when he needs to potty, however it's still cold outside. The real test will be in the warm weather! |
I considered covering them up or something, so you recommend I just keep doing it and trying it with her using the bells the way they are? I think she will get it, but I am just not home during the day to reinforce it more. I give her the best treats when we go outside and sometimes she sees me put the treats in my pocket, so she gets to excited about the treat to be bothered to ring a bell..lol |

So should I be ringing the bell then take her out, or should I be making HER ring the bell?..lol..sorry, me and my weird questions. |
If she's a bit nervous about the bell, I wouldn't force her. Just let it ring naturally. I never did teach my dogs to ring it or force them to ring it in anyway; they've figured it out on their own just from it dangling down and ringing on it's own. |
