My family now debating on our new yorkie puppy's name Our yorkie is still at the breeders. But, now my parents are starting to complain that they don't care for the name Chloe. They let me name our last yorkie and they liked the name Lacey. But, they were not giving me any suggestions on names. I got tired of just hearing the puppy. Now they are back to calling her the puppy when we get in conversations about her. I said you can not be calling her the puppy when she get home. She has to learn her name. Everytime I suggest another name to go with, my mom makes a face like she does not like it. But, everyone I talked to thinks Chloe Cheyenne is adorable! We will probably still go with that name anyway because even though my mom does not care for it, she never suggests any other names that she likes! Even though I know Chloe is more popular than I realized before I named her. I will probably be the 6th person or more with the name Chloe. I wanted something more original, but can't really think of anything I really liked. I liked Lexi or Macy, but I think that is too close to my yorkie Lacey's name. And it would be a painful reminder. It will probably still be Chloe Cheyenne, but it won't be official until I put her name on her CKC papers. We are not breeding her, but we still like have the papers just sort of like a birth certificate. What do you guys think? |
What about Felicita (fee-lee-see-ta). You can call her Feelee or Leesee, sort of paying tribute to Lacey but not exactly sounding like it (and it sounds kind of cajun). That is my daughter's 2nd middle name (Mia Isabella Felicita Evans). But I do love the name Chloe Cheyenne!!!! |
how about chantilly? not being funny but that old song about chantilly lace what a pretty face...etc. Came to mind because of Lacey....I could be the only one that thinks this would be cute but.....Chantilly & Lacey You could call her oh I don't know Tilly? Anyway, I had problems naming Caesar so I researched the meaning of the actual name and came up with Vaughn Caesar Alexander Wahl. Vaughn meaning little Caesar meaning (you know the ruler Caesar) Alexander meaning (Alexander the great and also protector) Wahl our last name. Then I got Cleo or Cleopatra and of course you know the story of Caesar and Cleopatra. Her name is just Our Little Miss Cleopatra. Quite funny since she is 8 lbs. Not very little. Good luck.....Christie |
Yea, theyre are so many Chloe's, but it is cute. What about Chloe Grace? I LOVE Macey, I have always loved that name. When are you picking her up? Angie |
I realy like Chloe too but there are so so many others that I like too.......I like Jada.....jaden.......jadie.....my daughters name is Jade so Im partial to those but couldnt name my Bella that....that would be way too cofusing. annie, because they do look like little raggedy ann and andies sometimes lol..... Jada Jaden Jadie Felicity (Lissy) Lilly Libby Layla Lordess Lola Daphney Mercadeez Abby Annie Talya Good Luck with your new baby and let us know what you decided! :p |
It is definitly going to be Chloe Cheyenne. We went to the breeders a few days ago and my mom started calling her Chloe. And now the breeder is calling her Chloe. She got the CKC papers for the litter. We are going to send them off with the name Chloe Cheyenne on them. We are definitly not going to breed her, but just using the papers like a birth certificate. We will probably pick Chloe up on Feb 17th. Because that is when my dad gets paid. (We still owe $500 and I don't get my taxes done until the 15th) So, it won't be much longer before we bring her home. We still got to get all her stuff ready even though we have a few items left over from our previous yorkie Lacey. |
Chloe Cheyenne is an adorable name. Just a thought...if she was born on 12/28/05 she will only be 7 weeks old on Feb 17th. Still a bit young to leave her mom. |
The breeder lives less than a 10-minute drive from us. So it is no problem having her see her mom. The breeder is still going to keep in touch with us often and we will still bring Chloe over to see her mom. I know 12 weeks is best. But, we got our yorkie Lacey at 6 weeks and we did not have a problem at all with her. She was a pound and half when we got her. My parents got a Chihihihua before I was even born from my grandparents. She was also 6 weeks old and just as teeny. She lived to be 17 years old. The breeder and her husband are going on an out of town job in 3 weeks. So, we are bringing Chloe home before they leave. She is already eating dog food and is doing really well. But, the only thing is that I won't have any time to spend with her that weekend if we go get her on the 17th. My mom will have go get her. Mardi Gras starts off that weekend with the first parade being Hercules in Houma on the 17th. I will probably be gone the whole weekend. |
I am so happy she's coming home soon. Is it at all possible to get her a week later since you won't be home the first weekend you get her and she will be a week older? At 7 weeks they need so much care. |
It is not like they won't be nobody to take care of her. My mom does not really care for Mardi Gras that much and usually does not go. So, she will be home to care for her. Mardi Gras is a big event here and I made these plans way in advance. It lasts 2 weeks here. I can't be home 24/7 because I work. But, my mom does not work, so is almost always home. I can't wait until the following week because the breeder and her husband are going on an out of town job. She usually brings the two yorkies she owns traveling with them. But, it will be too much to bring the 3 puppies along also. |
You've really been wanting this pup for quite a long time - ever since you joined and that was 4 months ago. Why not skip the parades this year? If you were in your own apartment instead of living at your mom's what would you do then? There will always be another Mardi Gras. The parades aren't that special. |
I know you have wanted Chloe for a while but your timing is off...you are going to bring her home when you admit it is too early then leave her when she will need you the most- not necessarily the best plan- if you are gonna be gone for the festival and she has to leave the breeder why not just shift things a few days- whatever you decide of course is your business but please think of the new baby first- Congrats on her and enjoy- |
If you mom will be home with the new pup - you certainly can go to the mardi gras and not worry at all. Does surprise me though - after all you've gone through - that you aren't counting the minutes to be with your new little pup as much as possible. This is defnitely not a criticism. I think most people would go to the Marti Gras....if they had their mother at home to watch the new puppy for a day or two. Good luck - and have fun! Carol Jean |
If I ever get another girl, i'm gonna call her Kia. Feel free if you like it :D |
