how many pee pads does everyone have throughout the house? We have three in the kitchen. He uses all three. We let him roam only if we watch him. We also have a pet yard/xpen in the kitchen for when we go upstairs. We have not allowed him upstairs yet. We also have a crate for at night. The question is....when we let him roam into the family room outside the kitchen.....the pee pads are in the kitchen, but he goes to the edge of the kitchen/family room and pees! Right infront of me. Same spot twice. Do I really need a pee pad in the family also? |
I have one! He goes to it when he has to go. I think if you have more than two, dogs will think they can pee wherever they want. |
Well I dont know if everyone will agree with me but this is what wroks for us. I too most of the time keep Hayley confined to a couple rooms and don not let her run free exp once in a while. She is 22 weeks old and she is about 75% pee pad trained and now we are working on outside and that seems to be easier than pads for us. However I have 3 pads in living room where she is and 2 pads in the office where the computer is, that is the 2 rooms she romes freely. I took up all pads but 2 and she kept goin to where the pads use to be so I put them back down. She may go all day and not even use pads she goes out but if she has too go then they are there. So I would say put a couple down in each room but be prepared to leave them for a while |
Got them in the x-pen for the pups. Other than that, I don't have any...we have a doggie door. |

Ya know what...I shouldn't even be answering this thread! I think I am the worlds worst potty training mommy!! Having said that, I would normally have about 3 pee pads out at one time and have the doors closed to any other rooms (yes, even as adults). I would have one in the living room, one near the dining room and one in between. I do this because all of these rooms are just one big open area. All 3 pads would always get used, so I just kept putting 3 out. I always pick them up if I'm expecting company...LOL. It's my best kept secret  |
One. Usually works but not always! I'm at home so I let them out quite often so alot of their "business" is taken care of outside. |
i only have 2 put out. i noticed one of the pups was using the pet bed i have laying in the living room so i put a pee pad in it. today I noticed Archie searching to potty and saw him head for that bed. he is doing good so far. Tressie goes in a different area. i have a pen set up with a pee pad in there. she also is doing good. for some reason Archie won't stand on Tressie's pad. He acts like it is yucky girl stuff. LOL |
I have 2 out...One is in the front of the house in my bedroom and one in the back of the house on the enclosed porch in the kitchen area... |
I put out 2 one beside the other, because sometimes she misses... |
I have 2, One in her playpen and one in the dinign room, we don't eat in there. She mostly uses the one in the playpen. |
I had two, then went down to one. It's in my kitchen, right beside the entry to the living room. She gets the living room and kitchen while I'm in class. She does pretty well, but she sometimes goes on the carpet right at the doorway when it's only another 5 steps to her pad! I febreze the carpet to get the smell out after everytime she has an accident but she keeps going to the same spot.. |
Only 1 pad in the laundry room and this is also where they sleep in the evening. They go outside 3 to 4 times a day. When they roam free in the house Rocky has a belly band on and Daisy has her panties on. |
My little Dennis mastered the Wee Wee pads at about 4 months and rarely makes a mistake. He has always had the run of the house and sleeps with me. I use one in the bathroom and one in the kitchen. I tried to pick up the one in the kitchen but he will go where it should be, so I had to put it back. So I would put a pad in the living room where you see him go and that should take care of it. |

Well how old is your pup? I only had two when my pup was little. One by the door I wanted her to use to potty outside and one in her confined area. Worked for me. I didn't let her roam- she was always with me. Sure sometimes she just squatted before I knew it but mostly she hit the pad. |
Pee Pads I have two in the kitchen by the door, we gate them to one room when we go to work, and Harley usually eats one of them during the day time, when we get home there are fuzzies everywhere, at least they do go to the bathroom on the other one, i'm going to try and cut down to just one, cause i use peoples bed pads, i get a case of them and they are so much cheaper than the dog pee pads, i get over 100 of them for only $27.00 and they are much larger... |
