abominable snowyorkie Anchorage, Alaska (99508) -- 10:52 PM AKST Updated: 9:53 PM AKST Temp: -10F/-23C Humidity: 82% It is minus 10 outside. My car battery died. I let Eddie out in his booties and coat to pee, and it took me a good 5 minutes to get him to come in the house. He kept wanting me to chase him and play. He's insane. Here's a vid from a couple nights ago, Jan. 21. It wasn't THIS cold, but it was around zero. http://www.dropshots.com/eddietv |
wow,, you got yourself one tough pup. I love watching Eddie in the snow. Gus is just like his mother. He hates the cold. Mind you it's in the low 40's here and it's still too cold for us! After going out to do is biz, he comes in and lays in front of the warm fire. There is no way we would survive in Alaska. |
Funny how they can be so different. Actually, it took Eddie a while before he "warmed up" to the idea of cold. Congratulations on 2,000 posts, Latuya. Your next one puts you over the top! |
No offense but I'm glad your in the cold and not me. I can't stand it and its in the 50's. I freeze if its below 70. I guess you get use to it though. I can't believe how Eddie is such a snow dog. |
hehehehe,,, Yes it does and I'm happy it happens to be on a thread about Eddie that I hit the big 2000! Thanks! |

Great videos! Eddie looks as thrilled with the snow as the husky I used to have. Amazing! |
Eddie the SNOW Doggie!!!! It's so COOOOOOL to see a dog who loves the snow so much! What a riot! I miss snow. Post more snow! LOL :D |
Brrrrrrr it gives me the shivers just watching it,:) He's a grand little chap, he really lookes like he's having a great time:) |
O M G!!! I look at your vids and I shake my head!! Being originally from VT, I am very familiar with mounds and FEET, not inches, of white flaky COLD stuff!! bbrbrrrrr..... Yesterday here in NC it was 57 degrees and sunny. THAT is the BIGGEST reason I am happy to be here in the south!!! Eddie is soooooo gorgeous and funny, even at 3am! :D |
He is the cutest snow Bunny i ever saw ..opps i mean snow yorkie haha |
Eddie the Yeti! That little guy is a piece of work. |
Now those are some serious snow videos!!!! Eddie is quite the snow doggy!! LOL!!! He is sooooo cute in the snow!!!! We are getting quite a bit of snow right now, so hopefully we can be cool like Eddie and see Luigi and Brasco like the snow, and see if we can get some cool videos too!!!!!! LOL!!! |
LOL !!! I LOVE Eddie Videos - he is GREAT hopping thru that deep snow - Eddie the Yorkie-Plow - how cute he is ! Thanks for sharing - man - you get SERIOUS snow there ~! |
WE LOVE YOU EDDIE- Your adventures in the snow are the best and they make our day here in HOT HOT Texas. Houston doesn't know what winter means. :D |
LOL....He's a huskie trapped in a yorkie body  Couldn't see his expression at the end too well, but I'm sure he was thinkin'...."so you gonna play or what?". We got a dusting of snow (2") a couple of weeks ago, covered the deck and grass. Trace was not happy that someone put that white stuff all over everything....he ran down the sidewalk checking all the potty spots, looking for a clear area....finally decided...hmmmm, I'll potty right here on the concrete :D |
Eddie looks like he loves it out there! :D |

brrrrrr, That's cold!!!!!! Eddie looks like he loves it!! I love his snow video, way too cool! Too cold for me!!!!! Tell Eddie Princess sends a warm hug! It's high 60's here, and she has to have her sweater on!!!!LOL Keep warm!!!! :) :) :) |
Eddie the Yeti!! Love his new nickname! Boy does he have fun in the snow. It does snow here sometimes. Maybe once every two or 3 years. And usually only about enough to turn everything white, but it is gone in a couple hours. But once, about 2 years ago, it snowed about 8 or 9 inches. Our dogs didn't know what it was, but they sure had fun jumping thru the snow. They all look like little bunnies hopping around. They didn't stay out there very long, though. Guess it was too cold for them. They came back in and said, I want to get warm, thank you very much! |

And bchgirl, I think you're right: He is a huskie trapped in a yorkie body! The turning point for him enjoying the snow was getting him to tolerate booties. He's loved it ever since. I still don't see how he can deal with minus 10 like last night. I didn't let him out for very long, but he didn't want to come back in the house. Your comments flatter and crack me up, everyone else. I wish I could send you some of this snow sometimes! |
Your Eddie is an inspiration. My family thought I was cruel putting Zoe out when it was in the low 40's. I told them I had seen posts like yours on YT so our South Texas weather at it's worst is nothing compared to what northern dogs endure. Stay warm!!! |
Eddie was a malemute in a former life, or a wolf :) I'm sure of it! |
