I Need Opoinions Here Has anyone heard anything negative about the insertion of the tracking Chip ? I know they are very good and have reunited many dogs with their owners but I have also heard some negative feedback about them migrating from the area they were inserted into so I haven't decided what to do about them. Anyone have an info ? Thanks :confused: :confused: |
Hi, there is lots of information on the internet about microchips if this is what you are talking about. They are not tracking chips but an ID number that is inserted into the dog and then with the proper equipment the number can be read with a scanner. You in the mean time have registered this number so if you pet is lost the shelters will scan any dog that comes in and will know which kind of scan and then call the main company and get your information and call you and tell you they have your dog. It is also a means, if your dog was solen to prove it was your dog. Through our rescue we have done this with 30 Plus Yorkies and have never had one stray in the dog. Peppy was micorchipped when he came home. All I can say is I sent in my $$ and paperwork for Peppy into Avid several months ago and haven't heard anything from them. :confused: I guess I need to call them. The last time I talked with Avid they told me that they were way way behind in processing. If I have the girls chipped, it will be with HomeAgain. |

It'll make it easier to update everything if/when we ever move or change vets.... Do other companies have this online feature? Personally, I'd have it done. In the event of your pup being lost and picked up by the humane society, you're chances of getting your dog back are A LOT better than if she just had a collar. The small cost, IMO, is worth the extra sense of security. |
