Best Food After losing our 2nd baby last October to kidney disease, we are now ready for our 3rd! We expect to find him (or her) in the next few weeks/months and want to get off to the best start! Regarding food, we expect our breeder to suggest a food brand - probably the one she's using - but, we may want to change. We believe in dry food and think highly of Royal Canin or Blue Buffalo. Cost is not really an issue - our baby's health is! Thoughts? |
Stay away from Blue Buffalo, they have many laws suits against them. Below are just a few articals on Blue Buffalo. The false advertising of pet food lawsuits claimed that some Blue Buffalo products were not consistent with the company's “True Blue Promise,” which stated that the products are “formulated with the finest natural ingredients” and made with “no chicken/poultry by-products meals; no corn, wheat or soy. Blue Buffalo voluntarily recalled a few products because of a “sequencing error” made by an ingredient supplier. The supplier had conducted a previous processing of Vitamin D in which some carryover may have contaminated the products. Why not to buy Blue Buffalo dog food? Unfortunately, Blue Buffalo Dog Food contains meat product meals and meat byproducts as well as synthetic ingredients, artificial preservatives, and fillers. |
Best Food Thanks! Has anyone tried Merrick Whole Earth? Grain free. Heard it is excellent. |
My suggestion is any brand that has not gone through high heat in the processing. That leaves freeze-dried, raw, or home cooked. |
I feed my pups Royal Canin Yorkshire Terrier kibble except for the ones who eat RX foods and then I also use Royal Canin. I trust the company and my pups are thriving. |
