Dental hygiene Elli is 6 months. I have been trying to introduce her to her teeth brushing. What are some products that you have used that may or may not have worked for you and ways to get her to accept it easier. Or how to go about it like holding her so she doesn't feel so threatened. What are your thoughts on Whimzies? I think that is how you spell it. Also I know at least once a year a dental cleaning with the vet is recommended, but is twice a year better or does it make a difference. I want to make sure I keep her teeth in the best condition throughout her life as best I can as I understand these small babies are prone to problems with their teeth early on if not taken care of. I have established her with an excellent vet care. Just looking for others experiences, neg or pos. Thank you everyone in advance. |
I use CET tooth paste and their tiny tooth brush when I was doing it u til I found out you can brush them as much as you want but you can’t help bone loss and genetics for bad teeth. I wouldn’t just start getting dentals until it is needed and recommended by the vet. After that first dental they seem to get gross faster at least in my opinion. Lovetodream88, That makes sense, the genetics. And thank you for the info. |
We’ve discovered that using Mokai treated dental wipes available on AMAZON daily not only keep Elvis’s teeth super clean it’s much easier than sticking even a small tooth brush in his mouth Jan can even get back and work on his back teeth (Molars) our breeder who we take him to for trimming and our Vet always comments on his sparkling Toofers lol. just wrapping one of these small circular wipes around your finger and in a couple of mins. Keeps them clean with fresh breath…. |
Yorkie Guy. I don’t know how to insert quotes but thank you thank you. Elli is absolutely fine with me rubbing on her teeth. I started that early. However she isn’t fond of me putting a brush or anything bulky in her mouth. I will check into the little wipes. That may be thin enough for her to be ok with. |
