Prayers needed for Odin
 

Like 3 hours ago a friend came to visit and as he was coming down the stairs, he didnt see my 4 months odin runing to greet him, and stepped on him.

Odin when into like a shock, frose with legs extended. Blood started coming out of his nose and mouth, stopped breathing. I ran and tried to move his chest to keep his heart beating, then i noticed his jaw clenched, so o opened it, put my finger in his throat and he finally took a breath and expelled blood.
For the next 20 min i was just waiting for him to die, as he could bearly breath, while we were trying to get a vet to answer our callls as it was 11:30pm.
Finally a vet hospital 1 hour away answered and we rushed to it. During the ride he stood up (good sign) and i just kept him calm.

The vet checked him (he was moving and standing by then) , his right eye is bulging abit and unresponsive which is worrying the doctor, he has placed him on an IV with all that is needed for pain, anti inflammatory, something to clear the lungs...

And if he survives the night and is stable tomorrow, we will do an xray and then an MRI when his condition permits.

Prayers and positive thoughts are needed.

Sorry for venting, but i knew YT community will understand the emotions im going through now.

Thank you guys, means alot and is much needed, it has been terrible the guilt, constant worry, replaying the events and wishing...

Today the vet said that odin improved abit.
they won't do any xrays untill another 48 hours pass as he is in pain and they don't want to stress him.
They also want to make sure any internal bleeding is stopped by the medications.

So im praying for a positive outcome.

OMG how terrible. Prayers going out to sweet Odin.

Yikes, how horrible, definitely sending prayers. Unfortunately if guests don't know the Yorkie shuffle its best to hold or put away the pup at least until everyone is calm and sitting down.

Hi guys, i just came back from visiting odin.
He is much better, his eye is improving, he ate, he can move and is not in visible pain anymore.
He gave me lots of kisses and cuddled.
I asked to keep him at the hospital for another 2 days, i dont want to risk anything by taking home now. Monday will probably take him home.

Very wise choice, I would have done the same thing and I don't get a lot of visitors.

Hi, Did you pick up your puppy today? How's it going? Hope all is well now...

Hi Guys,
Odin is home, he is a bit weak and wobbly, with hopefully no lasting injuries, but i was asked to whatch for any neurological symptoms .
He is put on antibiotics, cortisone and eye drops to take for the next week.
Xrays showed nothing broken. His eyes is responsive now and he has vision from it.
Now he will get alot of TLC.

Im truly very grateful for all the prayers. Odin was dying, i felt his heart stop for few seconds twice.
So to go from that, to home wagging his tale, giving kisses, eating,barking... Is truly thanks to all prayers and positive wishes he got. Thank God and thank you.

Great news, so happy to hear Odin is healing. These are spunky lil babies,
"takes a licking and keeps on ticking".
That must have been horrifying feeling his heart stop beating, sweet lil baby. Absolutely lots of TLC with lots of cuddles and smooches. Yorkie Talk prayers do work :love:

I’m so glad to read that little Odin survived this accident and is healing. I spent months worrying about my little one, Jax, being stepped on when he was a pup.

Odin is doing better now. unfortunately, few days after he got home, his eye suddenly went white and seemed infected.They couldn't do anything, Tuesday we had to remove it.
However, a day after surgery , he was much more comfortable, more energetic as if nothing happened.

I hope this will be his last ever emergency. Poor baby went through alot.
Now got to find him an eye patch, so he can really fit his name ODIN ��
