Do you enjoy nice places to walk your dogs? Here in the UK we are fortunate to have many places to enjoy taking our dogs for a good walk. I hear that in US you have Dog Parks, how spacious are they? Are Dog Parks the only place where dogs are allowed to be taken on a nice long walk to explore the area and enjoy the adventure of being outdoors? H x |
Welcome to YT. There are many places to walk dogs in the US, but they must be on a leash. We have state parks where some allow off leash if you have a dog friendly pup. We do have fenced in dog parks were they can be off leash providing all dogs are dog friendly. Some have just for large dogs and a separate fenced in area for smaller dogs. The US has leash laws, your dog must be on a leash unless you are in an area where off leash is allowed. I am not a big fan of dog parks, many times friendly dogs do get into fights, I do not take my dog to dog parks, I prefer state parks and use a retractable 25 foot lead. |
Hi, We seem to be the other way round, free-ranging places are generally assumed off-leash, unless a certain place specifies that dogs need to be kept on-lead. I think the idea of a long leash helps solve that problem! ;) :) H x |
Having a 2 1/2 pd pup there’s no way in hell I’m going any where near a dog park with unleashed dogs.lol |
Lol, I can see Elvis pouncing on all the dogs. At full growth he would still be to tiny for a dog park. |

Dogs are generally allowed in most outside areas as long as they are leashed. We have parks that are called dog parks where there are fenced in areas for the dogs to run off leash. I don't know if it is different there but here a lot of people don't train their dogs and there is a high chance of a any dog but definitely small dogs getting hurt by bigger dogs when off leash. |
