Problems with making a VET appointment Anyone else having problems making an appointment with their Vet? My current Office is scheduling 2 1/2 weeks out for non-emergency visits. I'm afraid that my non-emergency will be an emergency in 2 1/2 weeks! Just wondering if this is just a problem in my local area. I've been through two Vet Clinics so far because of availability. |
We do not have a problem making an appointment here. But still have to wait outside. |
I have no issues getting appointments. July was Cody's yearly check up, now that the mask mandate has been lifted, we were permitted in the exam room, but still have to wait in car until a exam room is ready. There is no waiting in the waiting room. |
I have heard this at other Vets but gotten lucky. My vet also has urgent appointments for every day that you can call as soon as they open and try to get. Although for routine stuff like vaccines and physicals I call several weeks in advance. I have heard ER vets are bad too but got super lucky when Dixie got the scratch on her eye there was only one other person there. Have you told them what the issue is so they can try to see you sooner? |
Actually I did call back the Vet Office and spoke with a receptionist that clued me in on navigating getting an appt. I've only been going to this office for about a year. They have daily emergency visits built into the schedule. You have to call in the morning to get one. There is an additional fee but so be it. As it turned out I got an emergency appointment for Saturday. Deuce did have earwax buildup and some bacteria in there. They cleaned it out and prescribed some meds. Done! |
