Anyone got a pup from this breeder? Hi.. It's been a very long time since I last came here. And I wish I came back for happy reasons but... My 2nd baby.. Zoey went over the rainbow bridge last week. It was somewhat unexpected so with the fact that she was the first furbaby I had to let go, it's quite a traumatic experience. I'm now trying to find a new furbaby to bring home. Not to replace her b/c lets face it, each one of our furbabies are unique and can NEVER be replaced. This is to lessen the pain for myself and my parents who loved her as much as I did. Sorry for the TMI.... (I think I feel bit guilty for needing to bring home another so soon...) Has anyone brought home a furbaby from Small wonder yorkie? Their website doesn't seem to work but they do have a FB which seems current. I've been looking at every single rescues for days (every day) hoping to rescue but not much luck. I did find one breeder (who is legit and very kind) that responded but she won't have any pups till maybe Jan 2022. Below is the FB for small wonder yorkies... I'd appreciate your feedbacks. Thank you. https://www.facebook.com/smallwonder...=page_internal |
I’m so sorry for your loss. When I googled them I found a few websites. I notice they don’t mention anything about being AKC registered which is weird and a red flag to me. You also must be careful with breeders in Ohio because they are a heavy puppy mill area so if you can not personally meet them I’m not sure you can be sure they aren’t one. |
I am so very sorry for your loss. That link on FB is not working, I did a search and found this. The wording is exactly as on FB. On the below link the same link is within the body and its not a working link. There is not much info. on this breeder. Breeder not having a website it's hard to say if she is a breeder of quality pups. http://www.findglocal.com/US/Manches...Wonder-Yorkies Don't feel guilty about wanting another fur baby so soon. A new baby will help you heal the loss Zoey. Zoey will remain in your heart and thoughts forever. Good luck on finding a healthy puppy. |
Thank you both for your replies. I did get a chance to talk to her, asked bunch of questions, saw the contract she requires, etc.. I'm about 70% she's genuine. With that said, I think I'm going to go with the other breeder in MD. She's on the YTCA list (Laritza Rodriguez). When we conversed via email, she provided a lot of info and made me feel comfortable. She's also on the board for an organization called "yorkshire terrier club of the nation's capital". Not know much about these sort of organizations, I googled and I didn't see anything negative about it. On another note... Several "breeders" approached me via FB msger. 2-3 of them, their first msg was "I have a girl that's ready to go, where are you located?" or something of the sort. I didn't even bother replying. Then there was one today that started off being very consoling. Which I appreciated very much. But then, she made me feel like she was trying to make a sale. I googled her and even found her name pop up here and not in a good way. I'm glad I've gotten myself into a habit of researching as much as possible before jumping into anything. Some scammers are harder to notice then others. |
Like YT says "buy the breeder, before you buy the puppy". I read here on YT several "breeders" lurk on sites like YT looking to scam ppl. that's why they joined, because ppl see they are a member they "assume" they must be honest breeders, not always. It's good that you research every bit of info. you can find. If you are comfortable with the breeder you selected Good Luck with your soon to be puppy. BTW, I miss you, I still remember the "saddle shoes" lol  |

I’m really sorry for your loss. I lost one of mine two months ago so know how raw the pain is. You’re far better to go with the genuine breeder that you contacted even if it means a wait for your new little one. I’m in England, so different situation, but most genuine breeders here have a waiting list, especially now as most have postponed matings because of the. crazy situation here this last year. Ones contacting you with one ready to go are more likely than not to be puppy farms or what has been termed Greeders here since the start of Covid. People with one bitch, often not a particularly good one, who have seen the absolutely crazy, extortionate prices that puppies of any breed are selling for here since our first lockdown & have mated their bitch to any dog they can find regardless of breeding lines, health, conformation to jump on the money grabbing bandwagon. Puppies that before Covid sold for about £600 are now fetching upwards of £3000 so you can see the problem. The reason most established, genuine breeders refuse to have a litter currently, unless to keep themselves, is they don’t want to rip buyers off but at the same time don’t want to sell a puppy at their normal price only to be conned by some unscrupulous buyer who then goes on to resell it at a profit, with the breeder having no knowledge of where their precious puppy has ended up. What you don’t want to end up with is a puppy with health problems that will cause unknown amounts of heartbreak. |
I lost my Abbaigail about 6 weeks ago, my heart was broke she was only 6 years old. Our breeder we got her from was especially kind, we found out pretty early on she was ill but we kept her anyway. The breeders dogs had puppies and she offered us a girl. We are so happy with her. And it has helped to ease the pain. We know this breeder and trust her, Abbagail was the runt of the litter and she was so beautiful and sweet. She lived a wonderful life as long as she was alive. She was spoiled with loads of love. I feel so blessed to have had her as long as we did. But a breeder makes a huge difference. |

Ask what genetic tests are done on their breeding pups. I would not purchase a puppy from a breeder if he/she did not do genetic testing AND provide the results to the purchasers. YHR just did surgery on a liver shunt pup and we have two more coming in this month. |
