SCRATCHING Nose Bear has been scratching at his nose. I have noticed that he has some hair loss right on the top of his nose. It must itch un"bear"ably because he keeps rubbing on the carpet fiercely. Is this an allergic reaction to something? Can anyone give me advice on what I should do? |
I'm no expert, but I'd guess it is probably an allergy to something he's eating...or something in your home. On second thought, he could have some type of dermatitis on the nose area. When Maddie was probably 5 or 6 months old, she had a spot like that on the edge of her nose and I kept forgetting to ask the vet about it. I put a little neosporin on the spot daily and it went away and the hair grew back. |
Sophie had a similar spot on her nose and the vet thought it was either a dermititis or allergies. It turns out she has seasonal allergies. The hair loss was from the scratching. Thank god she gets a break in the winter. I would take him in and see what your vet says. Good luck. |
sounds like it could be an allergy or a possible parasite such as ringworm. I'd call or go see the vet A.S.A.P |
Thanks guys!! I did take him to the vet and he said probably an allergy I used Benadryl and Neosporin. He is already better. |
All three of my babies are on benadryl right now for allergies. This darned weather is getting the best of humans and furbabies. Hot . . . cold . . . hot . . . cold . . . bushes and flowering plants blooming and growing and then being stunted by cold weather only to repeat the process. I actually have shasta daisies in bloom right now because of this crazy weather! There are maple trees down here in bloom right now too. Tonight is the first night I give them all benadryl. Not a single one liked it or me for that matter! They've been sneezing and sneezing and Cooper and been doing the whatuzzi across the floor on his back and rubbing his face on everything. The vet suggested a 3X a day regimen. |
