Shots?
 
Does anyone live in a high parvo area or a large city? My baby is going to get her 3rd round of shots soon. Im wondering when i can take her out for walks.

It is suggested to wait two weeks after their last vaccine before taking them outdoors. Giving that vaccine time to into the puppies system, also viruses like Parvo can live in the soil for up to a year and are resistant to weather and temperature fluctuations. It just isn't worth it to take the chance of taking a puppy outdoors before week after their last shot, waiting two weeks is ideal.

Generally a week or 2 after the last set. I have been lucky to have my own fenced in backyard where I can let my pups run crazy.

Thank you so much! Is 4 dhpp shots the norm? She is already growing up too fast :(! Im loving the routine though especially with covid going on!

I do feel really lucky to have it because my puppy will go wild just running around like crazy while me and my adult yorkies just watch her lol. The only issue is it’s getting colder and she wants to be out there a lot.

My Vet suggested waiting until 4 months old to take Gidget out for walks in the neighborhood. That's when pee pad training went into effect. Now she uses the pee pads when it's nasty weather outside; i.e. raining cats and dogs or snowing. Otherwise, we just bundle up and go for our walks.

It’s normally 3 shots unless the first was given before 8 weeks.

Awesome! Thats what i've done with my other breeds of puppies. I felt that the vet was trying to scare me into other services and booking extra appointments!

There are some vets like that. I had one want me to give the puppy shot with the rabies and I was like heck no it’s just to much at one time for their tiny bodies.
