Shots? Does anyone live in a high parvo area or a large city? My baby is going to get her 3rd round of shots soon. Im wondering when i can take her out for walks. |
Welcome to YT It is suggested to wait two weeks after their last vaccine before taking them outdoors. Giving that vaccine time to into the puppies system, also viruses like Parvo can live in the soil for up to a year and are resistant to weather and temperature fluctuations. It just isn't worth it to take the chance of taking a puppy outdoors before week after their last shot, waiting two weeks is ideal. Enjoy your puppy days, they grow so fast. |
Generally a week or 2 after the last set. I have been lucky to have my own fenced in backyard where I can let my pups run crazy. |

My Vet suggested waiting until 4 months old to take Gidget out for walks in the neighborhood. That's when pee pad training went into effect. Now she uses the pee pads when it's nasty weather outside; i.e. raining cats and dogs or snowing. Otherwise, we just bundle up and go for our walks. |
