Was she embarrassed? Dropped Gidget at the groomer's yesterday morning at 9:00. When I take her to groomer, I don't put a shirt or anything on her since it's more work for the groomer and her assistant to dress her after her grooming. Well, I picked her up at 3:30, came home, made sure her food and water were available. She kept hiding either in her daytime bed which is in the living room or in the bedroom under the bed. I thought maybe she was upset about going to the groomer but it's never happened before. At bedtime, put her night gown on and we went to bed. This morning, we followed our usual morning routine. She rolls over on her back, I do the belly rubs and the smooches then pick her up and take her into the living room where I dress her. She's been her old self all day. Was it because she didn't have any clothes on. Who would have thought? |
Lol, these quirky lil imps, ya just gotta love these lil monkeys. |
Clothes may make her feel more comfortable. It’s been 90 here and my pups needed to be groomed so I have been letting them go nakie lol! |

Duchess always acts weird after the groomers. I remember the first time it happened I thought the groomer had abused her. I notice Duchess always acts a little weird after being groomed no matter what groomer I take her too. Not sure why. At first I thought she was being abused by the groomer.......(I know I'm paranoid). I took her to another groomer and again she acted weird afterwards. And I noticed it again when I took her to yet another groomer. I've finally just accepted it was one of her quirks and no groomers were abusing her:p |

These little guys have big personalities that just won't quit. They're adorable, stubborn, but just too cute to be ignored! :):) |
Probably she could feel more air on her body, her tummy feeling the temperature of the floor more easily, maybe even felt a little vulnerable sans her old coat or realized she could feel more exposure across her genitalia/bottom or something was different and she didn't know what to do about it. Once she realized the new sensations wouldn't hurt her, she began to adapt and accept. It's a pretty common reaction in dogs I've had and my sister had a miniature poodle that would hide under the daybed the rest of the day after coming home from a grooming session and come out the next day as if she adored her new "do". Her standard poodle would whine and moan when he saw his fur falling to the ground during home grooms! |
