Hi Gail , so nice to see you, hoping you, your family and the furbabies are well. Pennsylvania has 3 phases of reopening and it goes county by county. My county just entered phase 1 May 29th, wearing mask is a must for all stores, gloves only some stores it's required. I use mask and gloves for the rare occasions I go out. In public mask wearing is advised but not all ppl adhere to that. Vet visits, a tech comes out to get the animal, you wait in the car, communication while your pet is inside is via cell phone, and it is emergency cases only. Phase 3 I am assuming things "may" get back to normal, that's another 6 weeks or more away. It is frustrating because we're not use to living the way we are now. Praying they come up with a vaccine, but that won't be anytime soon. |
We enter phase 2 on Friday. No one is social distancing anymore especially protesters. It’s 90 degrees here but restaurants can only have out door seating. I hadn’t been in a store for 3 months until today. Vets offices for awhile were only doing necessary appointments by curbside and rabies shots. Now they are doing everything again but just curbside. It’s frustrating for those of us with dogs that have special needs. |
I have taken both my dogs to the vet this week on separate visits. The tech comes out and gets the dog and carries inside. The vet calls, then the receptionist calls to tell the amount. The tech has on a mask and gloves and I stay in the car. Felt safe to me. |

Oh, no. Was hoping somehow Canada would be spared. In North Texas, we're about 1/2 way back to normal, most still fear crowds. Actually got near two of my neighbors this weekend - like 2 - 3 feet, they said they've been tested, which is good for just that day as far as I'm concerned but hopefully it's running its present course out here. Masks, gloves, hand sanitizer in every car you walk past. Young adults seem to be most fearless, don't fear groups, crowds that much as they rarely get very sick. Hoping and praying you all stay safe & pet care is considered an essential service, especially for those on the front lines of fighting this disease, knowing they can get their babies care when needed as they have enough worries just getting through each workshift during pandemic ramp-up of cases. |

We can go to the vet, we just have to wait in the car and only 2 in at time. My cat needs her regular visit. She's pretty healthy and wait a little while longer. In my area, covid is increasing. |

And this fact is interesting, providers listing a patient as a Covid 19 patient, whether they are suffering actual symptoms or not for that medical encounter or admission, automatically increases Medicare payments to that provider approx. 20%, likely also does for private or group insurance reimbursements. In so many cases where Medicare, insurance fraud from up-coding reason for treatment, over-billing medical charges runs rampant, I doubt there is no overhyping this disease for profit, political purposes and increased media income. The more frightened we are, the more we click on and view media for Covid 19 stories. Even the children the media readily reports as suffering from MIS-C, the often-referred to "covid-related" inflammatory disease, usually test negative for the actual Covid 19 virus. I was really shocked to hear that first on TV, then look it up and read it. |

I don’t know whether this is 100% accurate, because I didn’t research it, but someone in a different group I follow (about rescues, not specifically yorkies) said that the reason vets in the US have the almost uniform policy of not allowing human clients into the building with their pets is that the American Veterinary Association sent out the guideline to all member vets in March. Reportedly, if vets don’t follow the guideline, they can have their insurance canceled. |
