Ollie feel down the stairs Yesterday Ollie fell down most of our stairs and they are not carpeted. My mom was sweeping them and Ollie followed her up because he enjoys barking at the broom. I called him to come down and my mom also told him to leave it. Well I’m not sure what happened if his paws were to fuzzy because he needed to be groomed or what but he fell. He rolled sideways down the stairs. My mom said I screamed his name and I threw my phone trying to get up and to him quickly and my mom doing the same just dropped the broom. She got there before me and by this time he was standing. I took him from my mom and must have felt around his body a million times and no reaction or pain. I then cuddled him and my mom cuddled him and we watched him walk. He acted perfectly fine and like his normal self just a little weirded out about us freaking out over him. He ate dinner no issues last night. I thought he might be a little sore today but no he is fine and ate breakfast with no issues. I think it was the scariest thing I have ever seen. Watching him roll like that was just terrible and it seems like you can’t move fast enough. I’m so lucky and happy he is ok. I don’t know if it helped that he is bigger at 15 pounds or if it was just how he rolled. As the youngest I expected to have gone through most of the scary stuff but nope he keeps finding new things to scare me. Trust me when I say he is still being constantly watched just in case he starts acting like he is hurting. |
Thankfully he didn't break a leg or 2 . Size matters not when they fall down steps like that. If he showed no signs of soreness today I think he will be fine. Never a dull moment lol. |
Oh, wow, that does sound scary. I’m glad Ollie is okay. |
Are his pupils equal and reactive? No medical advice, just basic first aid. |

So glad the little pup is okay, they actually can be some pretty tough little boys and girls. Being small can sometimes be an advantage. On the day we picked up Emmi last summer, we had her confined to the living room while we were removing things from the car into the house after the trip. We had also put the baby gate on the doorway which seperated the living room from the kitchen. The misses and I were standing in the kitchen and looked over into the living room to see what the little miss mischief was up to and she had some how managed to get up on the back of the couch, and the next thing we see is that little 2lb chocolate fur covered thing flying thru the air over the baby gate and splat down flat as a board on the hardwood floor in the kitchen. She looked like a flying squirrel soaring thru the air!!!!l She got up like it was nothing but scared the you know what out of us. Kids!!!! |
How scary! Glad to hear he is okay. |
Piper is almost as clutzy as I and she has taken some (also) scary tumbles, but thankfully has bounced up and away each time. They just move so dang fast and in such unexpected ways, it's hard to keep up! You have raised strong, healthy pups, Taylor. And that will serve them in good stead! Thank God your little dickens is A-OK!! |

OMG! I'm so glad to live in a one story house with my two...Gus is the fearless one here and he constantly gets into crazy situations.. When he was about two he jumped right onto the solar cover and took several steps toward the middle of the pool. We immediately called him back; however his way of coming to us was to run across to the other side, then race around the perimeter of the pool deck. Luckily he was so little that he did not submerge the cover and fall into the water in the process, but he scared us both to death. Of course, his reaction was to lo look at us with the "what's the problem Mom?" expression on his impish face, lol. I am so glad that Ollie was not injured, but commiserate with you over the fright! ;) |
