Need a reliable dog sitter in Minneapolis My sister and I will be going to the Shepherds Harvest Sheep and Wool Festival In early May. Usually, dogs (other than those competing in sheep herding contests) are NOT allowed. Since we don't want to leave my Bon Bon alone in a hotel room while we are out for the day, I'm looking for a reliable dog sitter. |

I can't help you on this one. So far, I've not had to leave Gidget with anyone besides family. |
Isn't looking for Pet Sitters stressful! With my other animals it is horrid.....with my Tiny Dog, Yorkie, Katy....REALLY TRAGIC for me. As if there isn't enough to worry about.....all the Yorkie things (don't use her collar; don't let her jump off...; HOLD ON when you are holding her.....and.....) I would almost rather take her somewhere where they put her into a safe cage, than have her at someone's home..... OTHER THAN MY KIDS! MY SONS AND DILs ARE GREAT WITH HER! But they live quite a ways from us and can't always take her. |
I take Gidget everywhere I go. When I got her, I knew there would be times when I couldn't take her so I made the decision IF SHE CAN'T GO, THEN I STAY HOME. She's with me 24/7 and that's important for both of us. I made a commitment when I got her and unless it's TRUE emergency, then we're together. But that's just me. I don't judge others who choose to find someone to keep their little ones for a short period of time. It's a PERSONAL decision and shouldn't be taken any other way. |
I don’t trust anyone to watch my babies. To many horror stories for it to be worth it to me. Sure I gave up going on vacations and stuff but it was worth it for me because I’d rather be with them anyway. It’s stressful enough for me to leave them at the groomer and she has my ultimate trust. |

I don't trust anyone to watch my guy even in my own house, my fault, he's a door dasher, but will listen to me when I tell him to stay, besides that, I do have a gate but that is not to say if someone knocks on my door they have closed that gate. When I started having dogs 45 + years ago I knew there would be sacrifices I would have to make. I don't fly, if there ain't no bridge to drive over, I ain't going, and, my babies come to. I would rather have a pup 24/7 365 then take a 2 week vacation once a year, and I would never kennel my dog for my pleasure. But that's me and my choice. |
I get the stress and sadness of leaving a pet at home!!!!!! It is hard!! But it is a big world and I find it good to exploer it! So many AMAZING Things to see and sometimes that means leaving our pets with trusted poeple!! |

Since we brought Katy home, same thing for me. However, my kids I trust. My DIL watched her for me one day.....all was well. Others? I think it's the old, "I would trust them with my life....." Ha Ha Thing, ey? Katy also goes with us to their homes. She behaves well and they welcome her. So she is also 'at home' when there and THAT makes me feel good too. |
