Need advice please! :) OK, only 2 days 22 hours til I go pick up Coco from the airport, (but who's counting) lol... other than nutrical and maybe some water and a warm blanket, anything else I should do when I pick her up from Delta Cargo other than give her some nutrical straight away? I have a 40 minute ride home, and then I will try and get her to eat something, and let her relax - anything else I should do, other than let her acclimate to her new surroundings? Many thanks in advance for advice! :aimeeyork  :) |
I picked up my Coco from the airport and I took nutrical, water, and a potty pad. She will probably have to go the bathroom right away. What I did, is when she arrived, I placed the potty pad on the ground at the cargo office and had her go on it. Don't be surprised if she's just shaking and doesn't want water, or potty time. She will be a little overwhelmed. Just wrap her up in a warm blanket and hold her close to you and SHOWER HER WITH MOMMY KISSES. My coco bear was just shaky and scared, but she still had some water and nutrical. She didn't go potty right away because I think she was scared. When I brought her home she did, and our car ride was about 30 minutes. How fun. Good luck and take lots of pictures. |
oh my...I can't wait to meet CoCo. I'm not a big fan of shipping puppies only because of the horror stories I've heard but I would bring lots of blankets. The pup may be very cold due to the lack of heat on the plane. CoCo may not want to eat or do anything but in no time she will be the happiest pup because of YOU! She will be fine and please post up lots of PICS!! |
Awww...I bet you are sooo excited! Sounds like everyone has gave you great advice!!! Can't wait to see some pics of Coco! |
How exciting is this?! How do you sleep??? :D You got great advice in the posts above - all i can think of is KISSES KISSES KISSES and take LOTS of pics to show us!! :p Im excited for you!! Good luck  |
But that's the problem, I'm not sleeping LOL!!!! and time is just creeeeeeeeping by!  :rollingey |
Dont forget some wet wipes;) Jess was sick and pooped diarrea on the way home from the breeders and she hadent even been on a plane. Some get a little car sick the first time, even if its only a short ride, and she will already be nervous so you will want something to be able to clean her if this happens. Congrats on your new baby:) |
Take a plastic bag to put crate linens in. They will surely stink if she is in the crate for very long. Take blankies and, depending on where you live and the weather, a warm water bottle if the weather is like it is in the northern states..Nutristat, baby wipes, blankies, water and be prepared for a scared little shaking baby who will want to just snuggle. See? I am assuming your baby is being shipped some distance but if not, you might not need any of these things. Kissing was not an option with one of mine but snuggles were the thing. She smelled too much to kiss but it didn't take long to get home, give a quicke little bitty bath and the kissing started..What a present they are and you feel like a new hooman mommie. Take pics as soon as you see your baby..they are like the pics of newborns at hospital and you will never see them looking like that again. Smoochies and hugs from Rini's cuties... |

nohting but love when we went to get nina, we brought everything, even outfits. There is no time for that, you just want to snatch them up and put them close to you. Nina was all over the car with the four of us passing her around. They dont even care, she was biting me before we ended the 1hr. ride home. :D Patty and Nina |
