Ears and attitude. My puppy is called a Pari-Yorkie, he came with mole skin in one ear and the other was flopped over, Now his ears are bigger than any other Yorkie's that have ever seen. He is 11 months old now is that to old to get them to stand up. I will continue to love him no matter what but I think he would look cute if they looked like all the other Yorkies I have seen. And as a aside could anyone explain to me how my oldest yorkie and this one can be the same breed and look so different? Thanks ever so much Lynn |
I think you mean he is a Parti yorkie, If Mickey has various colors white, brown, gold and black hair that is called a Parti yorkie. Your question of how my oldest yorkie and this one can be the same breed and look so different? If you are referring to hair color do you mean they look different because of the color of their hair. When you selected Mickey did you see the puppy in person or see his picture, you make it sound like you purchased a puppy sight unseen. Parti yorkies are not traditional tan and grey or tan and black, Parti yorkies always have mixed colors, the basic color being white with splashes of black, brown and maybe some tan or gold. At 11 months old it is to late to get his ears to stand up, this should have been done when you first got him, shaving the hair off his ears would have been suggested to do, the less weight on their ears helps the ears to stay upright. I had 2 yorkies with floppy ears, nothing wrong with that they are still cute. Can you post a photo of Mickey, with YT pics they have to be 200 KB or less, you may have to resize the photo to post it. |
Yes it is to old to get his ears standing. I have one with huge ears and the other three all have floppy ears and I love them. The differences can be because of breeding. A good breeder stands to the standard look when a bad breeder doesn't. Also there is the possibility he could be a mix especially if he came from a bad breeder. All mine look different. Only one is AKC registered and he is a chocolate with floppy ears and 12 pounds, my other boy is 13 pounds with huge ears and a full tail with no papers and my girls are registered but not with a reputable registry and they are both 15 pounds with floppy ears. |

Up Date Hi, The breeder of my first puppy Max, is the one that gave me the name of the one I got Mickey from and I took the pictures but I'm having a trouble/ |
He cost 1500.00. But like an idiot I didn't consider anyone would try to pull anything with a living being. I'm not sure what happened |

He did but they sure look different than Max"s. If I can figure out the picture thing I'll send you one of Mickey's papers and him if you don't mind looking at them and telling me what you think |

Parti yorkies are gorgeous. I saw one for the first time a few years ago and could not stop looking at it. |

I actually came across a breeder here in California that had a litter of pure bred Yorkies that all came out completely different colors. She had one traditional (black and tan), one that was all gold, a traditional parti (white with tan and black markings) a parti that was white with only gold markings, and a chocolate Yorkie! What a sight that was, Lol. I asked her how that happens, and she said that it all depends on there genetic makeup of the dam and sire and the whole line. My first Yorkies mom was all tan, but all of her litters we're traditional and none were all tan like her. My current Yorkie has a small tuft of white on her chest and a little on her chin, which says there is a parti gene somewhere in her blood line. I had seen parti’s before, but never knew they were Yorkies, Lol |

3 Attachment(s) My Tyrone is a chocolate parti with a cute liver/pink nose and green eyes. The first two pictures show him as a "scruffy" puppy, but he has a beautiful silky full coat now. He is on the bigger size at nearly nine pounds. |
Tyrone is beautiful but so are your other boys. |

Thank you so much! I just posted Ty because he is a AKC parti. All of my boys are very different from one another. Their personalities and looks are all unique...and we wouldn't have it any other way! BTW, I have three adult children who look entirely different too. My oldest son has bright blue eyes and black (now getting silver) hair and beard. My middle son is a red head with a very full red beard and green eyes. My daughter is blonde with hazel eyes. |

Welcome back. I guess you know by now, never buy a pup sight unseen regardless if your breeder recommended them. Your pup is adorable and you love him, that's all that matters . In all honesty, IMO, he dogs not look like a yorkie even tho he has mixed colors. Pure parti yorkies and traditional color yorkies the shape and look of the face are the same, I don't see that in your Parti yorkie, he is more likely a yorkie mixed with another breed. (members of YT please chime in, what are your thoughts, pure parti yorkie or mix breed) If you're curious as to what breed he is, you can do a DNA on him. I have read Wisdom panel is pretty accurate DNA Wisdom Panel www.WisdomPanel.com If you decide to do the DNA please let us know the results. I know you love him regardless, if it were me, I am a curious person, if it were me, I would want to know just out of curiosity. |
Awe he is precious! He looks like a chocolate parti yorkie to me. There is a lady in Dover, Delaware on AKC marketplace that has a chocolate parti yorkie that looks like that, Sandra Lewis is her name. Look at her yorkie pics. |
