Sphincter issues on Yorkipoo, 15.3 pounds, 4 years old Has anybody ever had to deal with an issue of big red cyst like areas on the dogs sphincter? |
Yikes, no but sounds uncomfortable. What did the vet say? |
Ended up having to have surgery to have the two masses removed. Cells were consistent with benign adenomas, but cytology is inconclusive. So he is going to send them off to a pathology lab to make sure they aren't malignant tumors. Poor thing is REALLY uncomfortable. |
Hoping your baby makes a speedy recovery and you get good pathology lab report. Please keep us updated. |

Btw, I am not using a hard e collar, but using a neck pillow taped at the ends. |
Update...she has made a complete recovery, and only gets food I have put my hands on. Shredded boiled chicken with mashed potatoes or rice, carrrots, peas or green beans. Sometimes I add apples or pears. I also make all her treats now too. I am convinced her "designer" dog foods recommended by her previous vet caused these problems. BTW I am also convinced processed dry dog food had a part in my last 4 dogs having cancer, and I will never buy any of that stuff again. |
Happy to know she's recovering. :) |
