What a difference a few months make 3 Attachment(s) Hi, We are new to this site. On New Year's Eve 2016 we rescued a 13 year old Yorkie female, Chloe, with Congestive Heart Failure. Its a long story why we rescued her but she lived to be 16 and amazed us everyday. After she passed we found that living without that 5 lb ball of fire was too hard. We went looking for another. We found Liam, and brought him home. As I learned, Yorkie pups often change their colors. Ours sure did. Liam weighs 9 lbs at 8 months old and is a pretty solid young man. Welcome to YT, Liam is just adorable and thank you for rescuing. My rescue Cody is 8 years old and his hair coloring is still changing. My now 4 passed girls hair stayed the same color all their lives, go figure lol. |
Liam is adorable! Welcome to YT. :yorkietal |
Welcome and what a cutie! |
Thank you all for your welcome and kind replies. Being somewhat new to the breed, I never knew about the changing of colors. My knowledge of Yorkies essentially came from Chloe, our rescue who passed at 16 yrs old. She had a top weight of 7 lbs and was the typical black (blue) and tan. Liam on the other hand is over 9 lbs at 8 months old and has turned silver-ish and faded tan on legs and mussel. I've been told the traits can go back as far as ten generations. He is registered and I know his mom was a Parti. His size has me baffled a bit. |

Thank you Lovetodream88. I am actually happy that Liam is bigger. I am looking forward to all his upcoming changes of color and size. He is a great dog and a very intelligent and well behaved puppy. |
