I had two Labrador Retrievers when my Son was growing up, neither had allergies but one had Chronic Ear infection. My vet has Never recommended my Plucking any of my baby’s ears. Big or small. But that’s just me. My post was only to explain how I maintained my babies ears. Ty😊 |

One of my Yorkies started having a cough after I used baking soda before I vacuumed. I stopped no more cough. I know it can be so hard to find out first if our babies has allergies and then what it might be. If you’re not comfortable with your Vet, which I think maybe you are. A change could be good. If you have a recommendation, even better. It’s just like our Doctor. If we’re not comfortable, we make a change! Nothing wrong with that! I know you’ll figure out what’s right for both of you. Best of Luck to Both of you! 🐕 🤗😘 |
She does rub her head and sometimes body on anything she can fine. She does it more often when she is wet. Sometimes it seems like she gets it more often when the season change. |
Get a new vet who can test, diagnose and prescribe ongoing allergy treatments, if the underlying issues are allergies, medication to stop itching, inflammation or infection, diagnose the ear problems, explain, teach proper ear hygiene and have an ongoing treatment plan, all after explaining to you what is going on with her, how to help her. Good vets test, test, test as necessary and examine until they can diagnose, recognize and anticipate likely recurring problems, plan treatment for acute symptoms and likely recurrences, explain in full what is going on so you have no questions to ask, teach you things you need to know to keep her free as possible of basic allergy, ear problems and help their patients with these type issues eventually get better, if owners follow treatment, maintenance orders and return dogs for every follow-up visit. Obviously we here can’t really help her ourselves but a good vet can. Sounds like you need a vet or vet specialists with answers for all your questions. |
Any update? |
Mine does better with some hair removal from her ears, since she got partial floppy ears most of the time. If there was an infection afterwards it's usually because it's either already there or they broke the skin bad enough to let infections in. |
