Any slow feeders recommendations For Yorkies? Hi, I have a Yorkie that inhales her food, I know it is a behavioral problem. I need a good slow feeder recommendation that has helped/worked for Yorkie. Not too deep so she cannot get food out, And that works with small kibble. I have been working on this issue since I adopted her 7 years ago. I have tried a few either too deep and/or too easy to get food out. Thank you in Advance for your recommendations🐾 |
I can't help you but am sure there is someone on YT that can. |

Just putting a tennis ball in the dish can help to. Or a puzzle toy like recommended above. |
Sounds like some good options and choices for you. |
I have seen some ads for special feeding bowls designed to slow down dogs who eat too fast. |
Chewy as several that come in size mini like this one https://www.chewy.com/outward-hound-...tive/dp/113715 |
Unfortunately this one was too deep and she could not get food out. Even though it says mini it is quite large I gave it to a friend who has a pug which weighs 20 pounds and it was perfect for him, as he is also a food inhaler😂 Thank you for taking the time to reply🐾 |

Hot Pink Outward Hound 1 Attachment(s) I have used the Hot Pink "Flower" slow feeder made by Outward Hound with my gobble monster, Lollie, for several years. She still eats too fast, but it does slow her down significantly. |
We use the Outward Hound Slow Feeder XS with Bronx. It is really small and works perfectly for him. We also highly recommend Nina Ottosson food puzzles! Our trainer suggested not using bowls for feeding Bronx so we also use a treat dispensing ball (roll it around and his food falls out). We also like to use muffin tins and just fill each section with a little bit of dry food and it slows him down as well. Here is the bowl we use: https://www.renspets.com/products/ou...e-mint-x-small Here are the puzzles: https://www.nina-ottosson.com/ (we buy them from Amazon and he has most of the ones - our favourite is the tornado and dog brick though) And this is the food ball we use for him: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0002DK26C/...ing=UTF8&psc=1 |
Thank you so much for all of the suggestions and pictures of items. I do have a tiny treat toy ball which I use for treats fun games. I am definitely going to order the x-tiny mint Outward Hound, I did order the purple small one a few years ago, gave to my friend’s pug.it was too big and she could not get tiny kibble out. Muffin pan sounds great as well as the specific puzzles. Thank You So Much!❤️🐾 |
Use several of those ball-like treat dispensers filled with kibble instead of treats unless you can find one large enough to hold his full meal w/out being too big for your yorkie to easily master. Tibbe took every other of his meals like this for years. He was foraging for his dinner and loved it. Still treat him every so often giving him his dinner in his kong toys and other treat dispensers. We use the so-called foraging toys to serve meals in, too. |
Slow Feeder Hi. Just wondering if anyone uses the slow feeder bowl for the wet dog foods? Thanks |
