Embrace Insurance Question Hi everyone! As my two furries are getting older, I have decided to purchase pet insurance. After doing some research, I decided on Embrace. I tried looking for the answer to my specific question but couldn't find it anywhere so I'm hoping someone could shed some light on it. Situation: I'm not big on "over vaccinating" so my two aren't exactly up to date on all their vaccinations. Question 1: I believe every state has different policy on what vaccination is mandatory. Does Embrace have their own policy on what vaccines are needed? Question 2: IF the dog haven't been seen by a vet in over 12 months, other than the "comprehensive physical exam", are other exams such as blood work and heartworm mandatory? |
Your probably going to have to look at all the small print for that or they might have an FAQ section. I have healthy paws and they just required a regular vet exam within a certain amount of time. There is a difference though between over vaccinating and vaccinating. In all US states rabies is the law and without it you risk hefty fines as well as the possibility of losing your dog. Honestly whether the insurance requires heart worm medication or not you should be using it. They also should be seeing a vet once a year for annual blood work to check organ function, blood count and for heart worms. Without yearly blood work if your dog gets sick then they have no normal blood work to compact the sick blood work too. Regular blood work also can catch things before they get bad. |

2.No. Again though, they probably won’t cover heartworm treatment if no prevention is being used. |
