Not on yt calendar Please mark this special day on your calendar...... January 21st. Squirrel Appreciation Day Squirrel Appreciation Day is a holiday which is celebrated on January 21st every year to celebrate and honor squirrels and the contribution they make to the environment. On this day, people are encouraged to head out into the woods or at least, to their local park to look for squirrels and leave seeds and nuts out for these tree-dwelling rodents. And don’t forget to bring your yorkies to celebrate this special day  |
We have some of the biggest, chubbiest squirrels I have ever seen here in Lake Geneva, WI. Sometimes Piper can surprise one into running away by using her high-pitched bark/howl voice, but squirrels have figured out Piper's fencing limitations, so some merely hop a few feet away! They're arrogant little suckers, but always fun for Pipe. We will honor squirrels with a few treats on the 21st. The other day I saw one take off with an apple (a whole apple) I'd put out for deer!!! |
LOL, the squirrels here also know Cody cannot get them, cute lil critters that drive Cody insane lol. I to have seen them carry off large food items in the little mouths. |
