Ok, maybe I have lost my mind.... So a couple weeks ago a rural county animal control (they don’t have a shelter) called me to say they had a 4 pound Yorkie that a couple brought in and dumped tell them to euthanize her, they were moving and did not want her any more. They didn’t even have a run that was small enough for her. After about two hours the staff was all carrying her around in their coats to keep her warm and decided she was too sweet to euthanize. Soooo, off Cali and I go to see about her. She is skin and bone. Barely 4 pounds. Can count every rub and freezes like a rabbit if you fling your arms around her. Teeth were rotten, is probably about 5 years old, extremely timid and fearful. Next stage- she lost a out 10 teeth and may lose more. Lab work was pretty good. She is so immaciated she is cold all the time and trembles. Found she has been spayed. Color is strange, kind of apricotish look like maybe Yorkie Maltese mix with HUGE YODA ears. Now, 3 weeks later— well yesterday she even came to me briefly to be petted. Cali is pretty put out with me. The only dog Diva is being nicer than I thought she would - more like ignoring her (has a tag that said CeCe and she responds to that but mostly in fear) Cali is just watching to see if she will just go away:D The saga continues — am I fostering or rehoming — not sure — she is so timid she needs stability. Right now she is living the good life and I am enjoying giving her that! |
I'm glad she found a space with you, whether temporary or permanent. |
She is sweet and not very demanding. It is clear she knows nothing about toys and playing. But she watches everything my Cali does and is eating like a horse! |
Awww poor sweet little girl, how do ppl do this. This baby is so blessed to be fostered by you maybe even her forever home :):):) |
:clapsmile :clapsmile :clapsmile Thank you! |
Actually right now she is fitting it quite well Last night she found the stairs beside the bed that Cali uses so we fixed a place for her in the big bed! Will see how that goes. |
That's so nice of you to be able to help her . |
Any chance you will keep her? Sounds like she's found a home and it would be a shame to put her through another change in her little life. Keep us posted please. |
Like I said, she seems to be fitting it quite well. The only issue we have to overcome is that my Cali has to eat a low fat pancreatitis diet and little CeCe needs a high calorie diet to get her weight up. Trying to convince Cali she may not eat out of CeCe’s dish. Hoping we can work it out and Miss CeCe can just start with us:D Certainly she is better off than she was. |
Poor baby. I’m glad you have her. |
Oh my gosh, I am so happy she is with you - this poor little girl :(! I can only imagine what she's been through to be in the condition you found her. Sending the wee one lotsa love and puppy kisses! |

Yes I have been thinking about that, but today CeCe threw me a curve and did not show any interest in breakfast. She has always been crazy about her food, so we will see where this goes. |
