Best hairstyle What is the best hairstyle for a Yorkie. When I take Gidget to the groomer, she does does the basic puppy cut which means everything around her face is short. I like the "squared off face". I'm having her groomed tomorrow and want to have a good idea of what I want so I can tell the groomer. I don't want it cut as short as it's been for the summer but want it short enough to be manageable without getting tangled. Any suggestions? |
I keep Cody in a puppy cut year round, for summer the groomer uses a # 7 blade which is very short hair, for winter she uses a # 5 blade which is a bit longer then the 7. He gets groomed in winter every 6 weeks, summer every 5 weeks. His hair grows fast. If you use the same groomer all the time see what size blade they use for summer, you can try 2 or 3 sizes less as a starter, if it's to long or to short you can have them use the next size on her next visit, make sure you know what size blade they use, what I have found is some groomers do not record what size blade they used. |
Mine are always in a puppy cut. I prefer the rounded face because my bigger floppy eared Yorkies look like schnauzers if it’s squared. You can get them to do different length puppy cuts. |
I use the ridiculously sounding name Asian Fusion cut. Body short, beard short, Ears and legs long. |
Bella got a "lamb" cut the last few times. It's a puppy cut face, very short on the body, and poofy on the legs and butt. It looks adorably cute for a couple of weeks, and then the hair lengths start blending to look more uniform. She gets her hair cut every 2 months though 6 weeks would be better since her hair grows rapidly. |
Took Gidget for her grooming yesterday. Got her face with the "square face" and not as short on her body as the summer puppy cut. Love the square face look for her. |
I'm taking Piper to a new groomer Tuesday, highly recommended by my vet technician, and am a nervous wreck! We've not been to a groomer since leaving my Carolyn in Sparks, NV (theeee best groomer on the planet). I like Piper long and tossel-y, but "neat" if that makes sense! Lisa, new groomer, said we can take as much time as we need discussing how I want Piper done, so that's reassuring...but still....!!!! |
Not sure the cut style, but like a puppy cut with legs long. http://i675.photobucket.com/albums/v...0474A25F16.jpg |
