Facebook puppy selling Why is it that it’s supposed to be against the rules to sell puppies on Facebook yet it’s no there when you go to report them? Someone on a local page is selling 7 week old yorkies! So ticked off. He took them to the vet in a plastic tote and posted the pictures of them in the tote! |
Haven't seen that post yet. |

There is no place for selling live animals on the Facebook Marketplace (is that where its listed?) but if someone is advertising on their own page, I don't think there is anything you can do about that. The actual law in most places (except for VIRGINIA, WISCONSIN, AND MAINE WHICH IS 7 WEEKS) is that puppies have to be at least 8 weeks old. But they can be marketed or advertised even before birth. The 12 week thing is only a preference adopted amongst some people in small dog communities so it can not be legally enforced. If you report it, he can just say he is not actually letting them go until 8 weeks. Nothing anyone can do legally to make him hold them 4 more weeks though... |

People see these poor babies as commodities, as cash - it's heartbreaking. |
