OMG she's driving me crazy Its a beautiful day outside. the weather is perfect not to hot, not to cold. Well Duchess is following me around begging me to take her outside. I am in the middle of washing clothes, cleaning the house and a myriad of other things...... she is whining and every I go near her drawer where I keep her leash, she stands still holding her breath that I open the drawer and pull out her leash...... I keep telling her to hold on for just an hour or so. I don't like leaving the house while appliances like the drying are running, call me paranoid. Plus I want to finish my cleaning so when I get back from walking her I can just relax. Little stinker.......she is being a spoiled brat:p:p |
We don’t have them forever I say give in and give her what she wants. |

I have to agree, turn the dryer off, Duchess knows today is National Dogs Day. It's her day to have something special done for her or to her. Celebrate the day. |
! I MUST BEND TO PIPER'S WILL. I MUST BEND TO...Gosh darn those big, brown, sparkly eyes! Pretty much one look and I'm a goner! And to think for the first three months Piper was home, she just couldn't look me in the eye at all (little honey). Now she does that laser beam focused stare, unrelenting and unwavering...! We pretty do what Piper wants; heck, why not!?!! I am totally with you on the running appliances, not leaving thing. "I wish dogs understood: 'We're going in five minutes." |
LOL! They are so funny. Jackson gets me out of the house so many times and I love it. I feel guilty when he is sitting there looking at me with those eyes. And I'm always better off for it in the end -- getting out and out! |
I gave in and took her for nice long walk. We were gone for about an hour. took her to a park, sat in the park just chillaxing and came on back home. And of course we both took a nap when we got back..........got the cleaning done after my 30 minute nap:p |
Our little ones are so sweet. Those big eyes just melt hearts. I say, enjoy while you can. Gidget sometimes gets me out when otherwise I would probably just sit on the couch and watch TV. Sometimes I think she actually knows what's best for me. Of course, she's not spoiled--she spoiled rotten but she makes my day and keeps me on the move and social. Household chores can wait. My little Gidget keeps me calm and moving. Love her so much! Can't imagine a day without her. |

Actually, I have it on very good authority that one cannot "spoil" a Yorkie. My Yorkies have both told me so... |

I mistakenly then directed him underneath the sofa out of desperation, thinking maybe the treat had ended up just under the edge of it, he'd find it and it would all be over. Next 5 minutes he was worrying the sofa silly, sniffing, pawing, digging, running back and forth huffing, chirping, making those throat sounds he makes & giving me nasty looks as if I caused this until I couldn't take it anymore. Got the flashlight and a yardstick, got down, found the treat half way under the sofa and swatted it toward just under the front edge and backed off, letting him go again. He pounced on and swallowed that treat in a heartbeat and gave me an expectant look! That's his favorite game - go digging, find something, go again! So,silly me, though I've had 30 years of terriers now in my life, thought it was over. But he was enjoying himself so much, he was back digging at this crate sides AND at the sofa edges, trying to PRODUCE another treat until I couldn't take it anymore, got up and put another treat under the crate pad for him to 'find'. One second later he'd gulped it and back for more! Finally, after a 3rd treat made its way into the crate for him to 'find', I had to tell him 'enough'. It took 3 'enoughs'. By then, he is 11 years old now, he realized he was tired I guess cause he gave me another dirty look, went into his sanctuary, curled up, took a nap. These terriers!:eek::eek: |
What would we do without them! |

People who've never had a terrier in their lives really miss out on all the 'fun'. Terriers can drive you nuts but never saw a group of dogs more entertaining, lively and endearing in the way they live their lives and run ours. They just will not be bested unless it serves their interests. Love the way they stand their ground when they're convince they're right! Funny little characters and isn't it amazing how true to type and the instinct to pursue our Yorkshire Terriers still are after all these generations away from their creation for their original jobs. |

Me, too, luv me some Yorkies!!! Ever since my first Yorkie, Scotty, the blackhearted little firebrand who loved himself some trouble, I've adored their little spirit and dogged determination! And in a tiny package it's even cuter! I think sometimes Tibbe thinks he's a wolf! That tiny little thing thinks he's all that!!! Makes me smile every time I think of him. Every Yorkie I've had has totally owned me. |

Tibbe So happy to read about sweet Tibbe. These terrier are smarter than we think. He has a lot of spunk at 11yrs. Go Tibbe! I hope you are doing well Jeanie. I always love to read your posts and the adventures of cute Tibbe! |

It was like his way of hugging me but it was a nightly ritual. He was so tiny but all dog and ran the entire household with an iron paw. People stopped us everywhere we took him - but they do with Tibbe and Jilly so that's nothing new for Yorkies. My son was grown up and already away from home when Scotty went to Rainbow Bridge & he just broke down when I called & told him, the only time I knew of him to cry once he grew up! These Yorkies get such a deep hold on everybody's heart. But Scotty loved to devil you! I adored him, as I did little Jilly. She was the sweetheart of my life! I still miss them both so. Quote:
"Shirley Temple" dog. He's bigger than Scotty or Jilly(both 3 lbs.), foursquare & hardy, weighing in at 6.5 lbs.! I imagine I can see his little muscles ripple as he trots across the yard. Carries himself like an athlete & is so athletic. He's always showing off, showing how cute he is, always wanting to perform, get your attention and me to applaud him or laugh. He's "on" from morning until he growls himself to sleep at night being cute. Never saw such a little ham! He'd sell his little soul for a minute's attention and the more the merrier with Tibbe! But a better pet and friend I've never had. He's perfect in everything he does and so wants to please. Who couldn't adore something like that?!?! We have a great time together and I've never been so in love! He's some little guy and totally owns me lock, stock and . |
