Doesn’t their height and length have anything to do with their weight? These are my first yorkies so I really don’t know. I’m worried about the doctor wanting mine to be too thin. Gew |

Jackson is a bigger boy at 18/19lbs give or take. I try to keep him lean if I can. I got him DNA tested and he came back 100% pure Yorkie. Just goes to show you what happens when "breeders" aren't paying attention to breed standards etc. |
Length n height have some impact on weight. But some dogs are naturally slender, with a greyhound-type look. I have a Maltese (purebred-btw) who is tall & weighs 9 lbs. I had a silky who was much smaller/shorter but weighed 1/2 a pound more. He simply has a higher muscle ratio. A cat that looks bigger than my late Maltese, but both weigh 5 lbs.(Sorry, weighed in the case of the dog.) Again, muscle mass is deceptively small looking. My Tibetan ter. is thin according what I have read... But everything has variences. |
