Nerves or? Freya shakes. There. I said it. Lol. Simple two sentence statement. I don't know what to do about it. She does it everyday. I'm not sure if it's she's cold--I am hot natured, run the AC at 65, full speed--nervous, or what. I know that truck noises outside freak her out. She tries to bury herself under my pillow on the other side of the sofa. I think also my gaming on my Xbox One may frighten her, not sure about that one. No matter how I try to comfort her, she doesn't stop shaking until she wants to, I guess. |
At 65 she very well could be cold. My boys would be freezing at that temp. I keep clothes on mine. She could also be scared but I would lean more toward cold. |
I agree...cold would be my first thought. My guys wear sweaters inside when I take them to NY at holiday time. We keep the air conditioning at 70 degrees in Florida because it is incredibly hot and humid during so much of the year, but if it drops below 70, they are likely to shiver. That is not to say that they never engage in "yorkie trembles" if there is a bad thunderstorm, etc., but that is more situational. |
That's kinda cold for her, so please purchase a little sweater for her so she can relax and be comfortable. Also, loud and unusual sounds may upset her, but with your help she can adjust to things like that...Remember, she's part of your household now and her needs should be considered; therefore, you may need to make some concessions for her comfort (i.e. adjust xbox noise maybe). She's worth it, right?!!! |
I must agree, 65 is to cold for wee lil Freya, sweater or T-shirt is a must. Remember, yorkie breed does not have an under coat to keep them warm, so they get cold fast. Also loud noises scare many lil babies, maybe lower the x-box a tad. |

DEFINITELY. Thanks, everybody. Everyone here is so great. I appreciate the help. I have some old stuff from her old home, not sure if there's a sweater in the bag, tho. I will look. I try to keep her covered in her blanky, but sometimes she wants to throw it off, lol. |

Yes, I should probably lower the volume when I play my games, especially the more loud and shooty ones lol. I've turned down the alert volume on my phone. It's funny, cause wee lil Freya will hear noises outside before I do! :D |
Yup, agree - at 65 she'll be cold. Mine generally get cold below about 75 inside w/ the AC on. But reallly cold below 70ish. My Arthur needs a sweater often at that point. |
I try to keep her covered in her blanky. A sweater is better for little Freya because it allows her to move about, look out the window, play...And she needs to do all that! A blanket is fine for naps and nighttime, but that little girl needs to do supervised exploring and she needs to stay healthy by moving around and playing! A sweater needn't be expensive, just a proper fit and effective and you'll find it's worth the (low-cost) investment. She'll be happier and more animated when she's feeling warm and comfy! |

Okay, let me start with that I live in Mississippi, and it is the devil's armpit; however, my husband keeps it way too cold in our house for my taste, our teenager's taste, and our bank account. That being said, our two boys freeze to death all year in our house (in the winter, he keeps the heat low and our wood floors are cold). I keep shirts on our babies -- and guess what -- my husband takes them off because HE'S hot. Lord have mercy, it drives me nuts. So, it's always the stop projecting your being hot on everyone else. I agree with all the others who responded, I believe it is being cold. My Zeus is a nervous nelly, but that is a different kind of shaking -- that's when I drag out the Thundershirts. |

Will this do? I looked like I said in her bag that was given to me from her old home and found it. It's not exactly a sweater, but it covers her! https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=3&theater |
