2 Attachment(s) There is a website for looking up your pet's microchip to make sure it's in the system and can be easily found: Microchip Search | AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Attached are the results of my lookup of Bella's microchip number, and the information stored on the HomeAgain website. |

My dog has Homeagain and that seems a very good company. I used to pay the extra fee for goodies, but don’t anymore. One thing I got with this was an email describing lost dogs in my area. |

I understand one or more of the larger registries will require an extra fee to update your information (new address, etc.) if you aren't on the annual fee program. There are other large registers that state "no annual fee" outright. |

I agree, no fees for updates and regular service. Database kept forever they say. |

I had to look at the cards I carry in my wallet, but both my boys are with Petlink. I live in Mississippi (not that I know if that has anything to do with how it is chosen). The vet set up our accounts for us, and I update information that changes online. The vet also checks the chips every time we take the boys in for a visit, and their pictures are updated every year. |

Update: I ordered an AKC chip (only) to be delivered to the breeder for installation. After talking this over with AKC, I'll opted to wait and pay for the lifetime AKC Reunite registration at the time I finalized the AKC registration. |
