Kong Harness sucks, looking for strong durable harness Okay so yesterday I had a freak accident with a harness bought 8-10 months ago and the harness I realize has been getting loose.... It's an adjustable harness and I would had lost it if poor little maggie got lost or injured. She's used to me and there was nothing to spook her so she didn't try to bolt. Otherwise she would had. One pull was all it took for it to come out of there... The adjusting part I don't quite get because it doesn't have a way to prevent it from coming undone. So I am going to message kong because they have completely lost my trust. The harness was given to me before I could get the one you guys recommended. :/ But I always felt iffy about walking her out the yard because if it came undone and she got spooked she will bolt without thinking. So I am trying to find my thread with suggestions but I want an extremely durable harness that I can put on my dog and not worry about it breaking soo fast.... a harness of this price should had atleast lasted another year or two. P.s. can't seem to find her size in stores for neither harness or collars, and she needs a new id collar, a new leash, and I am thinking of a new id with all my contact info. If anyone can point me in the right direction |

. and we would take the dogs every 1.5 months to get bathed at petsmart but they never cleaned the collars or harness so we would wipe them down but it wasn't enough. We didn't notice until recently just how bad they were... the smell was strong but not so powerful you could tell from a distance. |

She rolls on mud sometimes, on the grass, on everything. |
I love the Buddy Belt for Gidget. She wears the white one 90% of the time and yes it gets dirty. I just use a wash cloth and put a little Dawn on the cloth and wash it that way then make sure I rinse the soap off the harness. Since it's leather, I can't put it in the washing machine but this works for me. Also, it's very secure. No way she could possibly put out of it. Actually have a white one and a yellow one. Just ordered one in pink. Gidget is so spoiled but I love it. |

Your leather Buddy Belts look wonderful. Has anyone used a Buddy Belt on their yorkie puppy--one that is say ~2.5 lb? The Buddy Belt sizing chart has a weight column, but the associated girth measurements seem large (relative to weight). These young ones grow so fast, would you hold off on the Buddy Belt until the pup has matured in growth? As for cleaning, have you tried a vinegar and olive oil solution? See "Organic Leather Cleaner and Preserver Recipe," zenoils [blog] (n.d.?). Thank you in advance for your thoughts. |

We like the the puppia step in harness. And also the julius K9 harness , which is very durable and safe. |

2 Attachment(s) I've always been a big fan of Puppia for our "Every day harnesses". They've lasted us years. We've had some that I've literally had since Jackson was 1. He will be 10 in October. They wash easily, they're lightweight, breathable, comfy enough to leave on all day if needed. We have others as well for different purposes but these are our are every day ones, basically. They come in different colors as well and different types... I use the "Ritefit" one for Lola with adjustable neck. They also have step-in's. I do love Buddy Belts, too. You can't beat the quality! |

1 Attachment(s) Right on, RussPilot! Since moving to Wisconsin, I've not found a groomer I feel "safe" for Piper. I bathe her now and even do some lightweight snipping around her face. Piper is clean, rather scruffy-looking, but as Wiley's Mom reminded me, "...they don't have to look perfect!" And safety first! 'Sides, Piper remains perfect in my eyes. |

I love Susan Lanci step in harness. Super easy to put on, durable super soft suede like fabric that is machine washable. Lots of colors and designs to choose from. So, so cute! The cut is well below the dogs’ neck so any pulling is across the shoulders and not the neck. Oh also, matching leashes, and collars sold separately |

You’re very welcome katysmom. Don’t know if you are a ‘bow’ mom or not but they also offer matching bows. The options are endless ;) On a slightly different note. I have purchased a few of Susan Lanci coats which have the D-ring attached to the coat so that a leash can be attached without the need for a harness. Everything I have purchased from this company is super stylish, very well made and hold up extremely well (rough play, multiple washes) |

I am thinking of the buddy belt for maggie. But sasha is a lot stronger so I wonder if there's a harness for her strength.... I wish I could get them to stop pulling all together. For sasha I may try the easy walk harness with a buddy belt. |

I got her a new id tag with her name on the front, and my contact info on the back. I am going to get her another one for the street address, and another number + name so she has two forms of coming back to me. She means the world to mem As for mugging, I don't really walk her outside my yard much except days there's less traffic. She is rather skittish and I absolutely refuse to let little kids handle her as she has a tendency to snap if pestered. (my young cousin learnt that the hard way although he's 12 and should and does know better). I want her to get used to my niece. She seems to have improved in coming when called. :number1ri I was looking for a quick fix harness. I looked at the easy walk harness... even the small doesn't fit her properly. She got out of it when my mom walked her this morning. She doesn't really pull anymore so we used a collar. Now I am frantically looking for the buddy belt and I have been looking for my cloth tape measure, as all I have on hand is the metal tape measure. I want to find her a snazzy new collar as the one I bought yesterday was too small even though package said for neck sizes 10 inches -13inch the buckle collar seems to be way too small it's smaller than advertised so I am back to using her old collar. It's so annoying to find her a good collar and even the ugly ones at petsmart I can seem to find ones her size. Collar of course I want it to be for identification purposes now. I looked in the buddy belt site and can't seem to find the bb2. I wanted to get the bb2 for now to ensure it's a perfect fit since I am at my wits end buying and returning harness. I cant bring her along as she only has a collar and I can see her getting loose in petsmart and I'd flip out. I also recall someone on here saying that there's a member who sells bb2's. Not sure but I could had sworn I saw them last year on the manufacturers site for 20 usd. If it works well I'd buy her the leather one within the month. Maybe treat the leather to prevent damage from moisture. |
Pulling or not, do not use a collar for any 'control' purposes. Also, is she micro-chipped? |
