Fence reminder
 
I wanted to remind everyone who has fences and or kennel like things they use for their pups you might just want to do a check on them since the weather is getting better. Look for holes, loose gates or fencing, gaps in the fencing and such.

Amen! I've been reinforcing Piper's fence regularly as there a little gaps along the bottom and the ground is quite damp (easy digging). Piper enjoys her yard, but if she were to discover 'accidentally' that she could dig under and out, Annie-bar-the-doors, we'd have to pour cement or something! So my everyday routine is to anticipate, check, and block; it's not a chore because the area is small, fence is new, and Pipe and I enjoy hanging outside together. Thank you for your truly invaluable and timely reminder, Mzz T!! Deer come by almost nightly...

Does Piper go nuts when she sees the deer, Cody goes ballistic when he sees them, wants to kill them lol, IDK maybe he thinks they are dogs.

As a heads up, deer can hop over that fence, also check for deer poop and clean it up if you find any, Piper may eat it. I had a pup that would eat rabbit and deer poop if she found any.

Oh good lord almighty YES! Piper "chased off" about a half dozen deer the other night and has decided that she is now the toughest little dude ever!! Mind you, she was racing along her side of the fence, doing that little high pitched whine/bark and it took the deer about 30 seconds to decide to humor the crazy tiny canine and leap away! But Piper is ever-on-alert every evening now...And thanks for suggestion to check for foreign matter, Piper is pretty picky, but wild is wild and always enticing!

lol, aren't these pups just the funniest ever, wanting to take on big game lol. My girls never bothered with the deer, just one time a young black bear had gotten one of the bird feeders down and was nicely eating (at 2am) I let my 2 girls out (they had a dog run) they stopped short in their tracks, they smelled something different BEAR and started barking and going crazy, the bear paid them no mind lol, I had to shoo the two nuts back in the house not to wake the neighbors (who I am sure were already awake with all the chaos that went on) I let them out after I peeked to make sure smokey had left.

We have deer a lot too but not that close lol. We have three acres so normally they are back toward the back part. The two things that can make Callie bark (she is not a barker) are deer and birds lol.

There really is nothing for them on the other side so its rare they would jump that fence. Gardens that is a different story but most of the times fences keep them out. I took Sammy and Callie for a walk in our back of our 3 acres and Sammy was not interested in eating it but rolling in the poo yuck it was gross and it it happened before I could pull him away.

Yep Molly already found a spot and was 1/2 way under it when I grabbed her. Luckily it would have lead into the neighbors fenced yard so she wouldn't get very far. She even can get under the couch which can't be 3" off the floor! We are planning on putting a decorative metal fence inside the wood fence to keep Little Houdini in!

I feel you, my youngest has not escaped the outside fence but nothing inside keeps her contained unless it’s a crate. She can climb the pressure mounted gate and can push open free standing gates. It’s crazy lol.
