Ok, sounds great, thank you:thumbup: I wanted to do a search before posting something that has been asked before, but the system seems to not allow me to make searches... Is there a reason for that or is it just not working at the moment? |
Hi Katfrlls Welcome! I'm in Uk England Dorset. Just got my Yorkie x Toy Poodle (YorkiePoo) she is now 14 weeks old & been with me 4weeks now. Omg Love Her Absolutely Adorable just have to be firm sometimes on the Nipping & Lots of Positive re-enforcements Praise. Treats help Alot.😃Hope you find a Good Breeder who keeps Pups in Family Home as mine did, the Best in my opinion. They had a Cat too. |

I can't do searches either but I attributed it to being on my phone. I think maybe the search box is a pop-up. So, you may want to see if you have pop-ups blocked on your computer. Just guessing here. Welcome! And best of luck with finding a good breeder. I found my boy at the local shelter; probably because he is older -- 9 years. I just adore him and would have no other. |
Ah, thanks guys, the pop up thing might explain it. Or maybe that I have to reply to some more posts before being able to search.. Am loving looking around on here and seeing everyone's cuties! :) Hi to joy in Dorset - love yorkiepoos too! |
Hello and welcome to YT :) |
Here are something’s that should be important no matter were you live. They should keep the pups until 12 weeks, not breed mixes, not use the word teacup, the puppies should be raised in a clean environment not in outbuildings or sheds, and if the breeder has lots of puppies it should be a concern. |
Thanks for the advice. With regards to health testing what should I be looking out for? I've read somewhere that "patella luxation" can be a problem in yorkies and that good breeders should be testing for this, is that right? |
Kat, there are a few on Pets4homes site, my Breeder may be giving her female a brake before having another Litter of Pups. Good luck x |

Thanks for the info on LP/PL! This is something I will definitely have to ask a breeder then. Are there any other health issues that I need to ask about? Some dogs seem to suffer from PRA - is that the same for Yorkies? I have been on pets4homes and gumtree and not seen any breeders on there that inspire confidence. Which is why I find it so hard to find a proper breeder as there are none with actual websites..It seems as going though the Kennel Club and asking there is what I need to do. If anyone on here has any experience of breeders in the UK I would still love to hear! ;) Thanks! |

Yes, we do have that here too so I should probably just get in touch with them and ask all my silly questions ;) |
