Car seat for your yorkie I'm seriously considering getting a car set for Gidget. She rides in my lap but sometimes she gets excited about what's going on and could easily get me distracted. I want one that I can attach to the front passenger seat and one that will ride high enough so she can see outside. Any suggetions? |
Ridding in your lap is very dangerous if your driving and is against the law in several states. I personally like the snoozer. The last a long time and are very soft and cozy. |

I am going to try a Sleepypod. It seems to have good reviews, although it's a bit Pricey. |
We have a snoozer and a pet gear seat. The per gear seat has a heater in it for the winter. In general she prefers the pet gear seat because she sits higher in it. If we use the snoozer on long trips. |
Because my rescue boy got car sick I needed a booster seat that was elevated off the passenger seat. I have the Tagalong Pet Booster Seat gotten at Pet Supplies. He has never gotten sick in the 4 years using it. He can see out of the window, he loves his booster seat. |
We love our Snoozer seat! I wouldn't use one in the front passenger seat unless you don't have an airbag or can turn the airbag off. Dangerous having your baby in your lap too. If you had to slam on the brakes she could be in the floorboard and then there's the driver's bag. I don't know, I just overthink too much and think of all the bad things that could happen. |

HMMM. I just thought of something. I have a Sherpa carrier for Gidget. Would it be safe for her to ride in it if I put it on the front passenger floor board? I know it can't be tied down so that is a concern, too. |
1 Attachment(s) If you get a booster seat that is elevated off the passenger seat the air bag is deactivated due to no weight detected on the seat. Here is a pic of my flirty guy in his. One strap goes around the head rest, another strap goes around the body of the seat, there is a short tether attached to the inside of the seat that clips onto the harness preventing the dog from being air bound or falling out of the seat if you slam on your breaks. Sorry if pic comes sideways I just cannot correct it, new lap top.....sigh |

As far as I know, in order for the air bag to be activated there must be a person siting on the seat, no weight the bag is not activated. Most all new cars you can manually shut the air bags off. But I am sure you have driven many more cars then I have in my 50+ years. |

Sorry to say the few friends I have that have small breed dogs refuse to use booster seats as a safety precaution, they just plop them in the front or back of their cars, shame on them. |
