Can your pup make you feel guilty? 1 Attachment(s) Whenever Deuce see's me doing the dress up routine in the afternoon he begins to sulk. I think it's because he knows we're going out to dinner - which excludes him. During the day he really doesn't care because he usually likes to bask in the sun or just sleep in the living room. As I get dressed he'll paw me, stretch on my legs or just sit there and look at me while I put on my make-up. Believe me he's a very independent little guy and certainly not a lap dog, only on occasion when it suits him. Of course I feel guilty when he does this. We always feed him before we leave and then take him out to potty and I give him a treat. Maybe he really wants me to get dressed faster and leave so he gets his treat? |
absolutely all of mine do this |
ALL the time. My foster has even perfected the "guilt mom" look. Yesterday I was getting ready for work and was about to walk out the door... She followed me and wouldn't listen. She wanted to go out the door and ride in the truck with me :p |
Yup Emma has done it . It’s most at bed time when she doesn’t want to sleep in her crate . She will walk extra slow , hunkered down and when she gets to the door of the crate she’ll roll over for a belly rub as if she’s saying please let me sleep in the bed tonight. |
I make myself feel guilty every time I can't take my kido with me. I just hate to leave him alone. |
ALL the time!! Jackson and Lola are the same too where when I leave in the AM, they don't seem to care much. They know the routine, they enjoy laying in the window, watching outside, napping going from the bed to the floor, etc. but if I have to come home and then go out again shortly after, they sulk and make me feel SO bad... |
Absolutely! Gidget knows the routine. I take her with me when I got out except to church and to get my hair cut. I can walk out the door to get the mail and it doesn't bother her. But the routine of me getting ready to go someplace is a different matter. When I close the door behind me, her bark is almost like a cry. It's high and shrill. If I'm standing outside my apartment door and talking to someone, she lets me know she knows I'm there but her bark is different. They are so funny and so perceptive. Love her to pieces! |

I bribe them to get over my guilt. I hated the look in their eyes when I go to work each morning so I bought 2 of the smallest kongs. I put everything I need next to the door then put some peanut butter in the kongs and put the kongs in the family room. While they are busy licking away I run to the front door, grab everything and go to work. |

Tibbe is a past master at giving the guilty looks while I'm dressing to go out. Won't even come in the room - just stands outside the doorway and stares at me. |
Yes and Fabian knows that if he does it for several days, he'll probably guilt me into getting him a bully stick. |
