Change in Behaviour Before Christmas our 10yr old male yorkie had all his teeth removed. He did great but now he is behaving weird. He'll follow us around alot and constantly wanting my husband to pick him up but he'll want right back down. He'll do this a big part of the day and it's driving hubby crazy. He also seems to want us to go to bed through out the day,we'll open the bedroom door and he'll stay for a few minutes and then go back to the living room. It's very strange behaviour for him  |
Have your been back to the vet to check that there is nothing;g going on that may be causing any discomfort? |
yes and everything was great |
It might be a big change to get used to. Sounds like he maybe having anxiety. You might want to talk to the vet about trying something for anxiety. |
He's probably slightly traumatized as he went through major surgery, plus he probably feels rather insecure and somewhat bewildered by sudden loss of chompers. Maybe just give him a soft treat now and then for no reason; and tell him he's still a handsome, strong boy--sounds silly maybe, but I think he needs to be made to feel very special and also needs some reassurance from you and husband that he is fine (no teeth, no problem). It's gotta feel might strange to suddenly lose all your pearly whites and rather disconcerting emotionally... |
Never thought of anxiety, could very well be. Think I'll have to take him to the vet. oh believe me,we make him feel very special lol Spoiled rotten |
