Growth Charts How much did your little babies weigh when you got them, and how much do they weigh now? Let’s see how accurate these growth charts are....... |
http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/my-...-5-months.html Per the growth chart Emma at 12 weeks was charting to be ~5.5-6 pounds . At nearly 18 months I’d say that’s pretty accurate for her . Reminder that the growth charts are just estimations and that genetics play a big role in your Yorkie’s size. Emma turns 4 in a month and she’s 7 pounds . |
Joey was charting to be 12 or more pounds and he is 10. I think it’s rare those ever really work out right. Most reputable breeders can give a really good guess on what their adult weight should be. |

I'd agree about the experienced and reputable breeder giving a good estimate on adult weight. Emma's breeder gave a good estimate and wanted to watch her closely since she was smaller and was being considered for show. |
The growth chart said that our Bella would weight 5 pounds as an adult. She weighs 7 pounds and is quite healthy, not overweight at all. I'm disappointed in the growth chart, but relieved that Bella is a happy, healthy weight. |
I was wondering the same thing. My Laci was 2.6 lbs at her 6 week check up which was way off the charts. But now she is 11 weeks and weighs exactly 3 lbs...I am guessing she will be around 6.5-7 lbs. her parents are both around 5 lbs. Danielle |
1 Attachment(s) Fabian was under 2 pounds at 13 weeks. He was on track to be about 3.5 pounds. He now weighs nearly 8 pounds... of solid muscle, at one year. Can still feel his ribs! |
My Bon Bon weighed 4.25 ounces at birth. At 8 weeks and one day, he was 1.75 pounds. At 11 weeks and one day, he tipped the scale at 2.2 pounds. His sire is 2.5 pounds and dam is 6 pounds. According to the breeder, he's on track for between 4 and 5 pounds. I'm good with that. Folks are always asking if he's a 'teacup' and I tell them he's still a puppy and has some growing to do yet. |
