Second Post: The War with the leash I have watched Youtube videos and read in forums and have tried all sorts of tricks: Stopping when she pulls or when she runs ahead I put my foot in front of her. But she is not stupid, she just turns around and goes in the other direction. Or she stops and as soon as I go on she runs ahead. If I'm stubborn and can not move a millimeter, she'll try every direction, somehow she'll come to me ... I'll start again and the tug starts again. Walking is so often a torment. Is that typical for Yorkies or am I simply incompetent? I know she is still very young, but I live right in town. That means it's really important that I practice that with her. Since she does not take any treats outside, not even the beloved liverwurst, it's very hard to train with her. I've even trained on a leash at home ... but as soon as we're outside she hops from one track to the other. Do you have any tips for me? :) |
