Heated dog stroller or portable heating pad? Cold weather is upon us, and I want to be able to take Bella out in a stroller, but I don't want her to get too cold. Has anyone seen a heated dog stroller or a portable heating pad that can be put in the bottom of her stroller? The only thing I've come across so far is a microwavable heating pad: https://www.chewy.com/kh-pet-product...e-bed/dp/54472 I'm not sure how long the heat would last outdoors on a cold day, or whether there is a danger of the pad getting too hot and burning Bella. Does anyone have any experience with this? |
I take Cali for walks in her stroller in the winter- I fill the strolller with quilts and her cuddle sack that she loves and off we go. If she gets chilled she burrows into her cuddle sac. I also put a sweater on her. She loves it! Her cuddle sack if made of faux fur and is really really warm! I got it at the Westminster Dog show a couple years ago. It is so cold in Feb. in NYC with the wind. One of the vendors sold them. I can get your her name if you want it. |

That could work--the high edges would help cut down the wind chill coming in the sides of the stroller. I'm also hoping to find an active external heat source. |
Yea, that is close. Hers is really a sack she can climb into. But anything they can hunker down in to cut the wind would work. |
We have a little heated bed, it has a little heat pad that you microwave and then that goes in a zipped compartment under the bed but there is a little paraded bit that you out between the heat pad and the bed so it doesn't burn them ,. It gives quite a few hours of heat. I hope you fined something suitable . |
I think the sleepy pod has a heated insert maybe it would work in a stroller. |
Go to Big5 and buy the body warmers (man-hand size) and put one in a sock under her blankets. They do get quit hot but they last for up to 10 hours. The smaller warmers only last for 2-3 hrs and are palm-size. The microwave gel only last for about 1/2 hr. Be sure to put the sock where they can't get at it because the granules inside can be harmful if swallowed. The body warmers are what I've always used for myself because I was a snow skier and we all know about those because they work and I use them now for Muffin. :) |
The. Lady warmers is a good idea. |
Thanks for all of the suggestions! I will probably go with a combination of a deep cuddler type bed with a microwavable heat insert. Our walks are only 20 minutes long, so even if the heat only lasts 1/2 hour, that should be sufficient. |
